Minnesota and Alaska are always the opposite. When that Canada air is dipping into the US the warm Pacific air is streaming into Alaska.

More specifically Minnesota and Anchorage. Fairbanks is likely frozen all winter.

Syracuse and Great Barrington snows are like that. The year we got 33 and then 28 in 3 nights in SYR GB got zero. Literally, zero. They are 200 miles apart.

TBF, Anchorage rarely gets huge snowstorms. We typically accumulate a decent amount over time. Same thing with cold snaps, it’s usually cold just not typically brutal cold.

Of course, that’s changing with climate change.

I woke up this morning to -17. With no wind, -17 doesn’t feel so bad.

We got that minus temps weather coming to Maine tonight. Northern Maine will be chilly in the minus 20s Here on the coast only minus single digits. Bringing in wood later today
