Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather IV: Niño or Niña, My Joints Stopped Trying

Another tropical storm is upon us now. Crossing Manila Bay as I type and moving NW where we are.

Luckily it does not appear that the storm will upgrade nor directly hit us here, but it's already raining heavily. Luckily we're flood proof so hoping the wind doesn't get out of control.

I move here. Phoenix breaks its annual rainfall record. Coincidence?

Phoenix has received a record-breaking amount of rain this year, according to Matt Salerno, lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Between Sept. 1 and Nov. 23, Phoenix saw a total of 6.31 inches of rain, beating the previous record of 6.18 inches set in 1939. In October alone, Phoenix received 3.26 inches of rain, he added.

Firstly, that is not what expected Kepler to look like.

Secondly, when I checked the forecast this morning it predicted snow from 11-noon. Ok, I can deal with that. Commute will be unaffected. It has been snowing since about 10. I think, maybe I can go out at lunch, updated forecast says snow ending at 12:30, 20 minutes later, snow ending around 2. Now that it's 2, snow ending around 4. What is this craziness? I did not plan for more than an inch of snow today.

The wife and I are enroute home from Punta Cana and we just got diverted to ATL to procure a new a/c due to ongoing small issues with this one and the crap weather at home.

Jesus, DTW handled this storm exceptionally poorly. We finally landed, but they're short of ground crew and several a/c ahead of us yet to be parked at a gate. 😞
