BTN vs FSN coverage of the games is one possibility.

Suggestions for future dance choreography of the UW student section is another.

I think they should all hammerdance.

BTN has been alot better this year than years past imo.. If they handle the games like they did this past series in the future i'd be alright with that... But Gorg and Lapanta will or should be involved with all FSN coverage..

well great game for MN. they showed why they're #1 by thoroughly dominating UW (1st and 3rd periods, 2nd was even I suppose).

Absolutely stupid pass by Springer onto a gopher stick and bang 3-1 and it's lights out.

UW coaches have quite a few discussion points now.
-hey don't ****ing skate the puck up in front of rumpel w/gophers (opposition) around
-hey don't ****ing blind pass
-hey stop you're dangerous passes in front of the net
-viet, viet, viet, ****ing skate full tilt all the time...big learning curve when you play against the fastest (generally) and best skaters in the country

but none of that matters to the overall outcome of either night it's just talking points on how not to get buried next time

MN kicked *** tonight plain and simple.

Bjugstad, Rau, Buddish (sp?) are just sick.

for UW - Barnes/Zengerle/LaBate didn't seem to have the same impact as last night. I think that's in part why we saw much more of the lower lines in the 3rd. I certainly saw the 4th line out there much moreso in the 3rd than I'd seen in prior games.

Sorry dude, but this didn't bother me any more than it did when the 2006 Natty team was honored during a football game a few years ago.

At football games they parade all of the other teams out on the field so 80k+ can cheer for them. It happens all the time. Far more than anyone is ever forced on us at hockey games.

It's just the older, better looking but less accomplished brother who daddy loves best syndrome that's getting to you. IMHO, of course.

I can't stand Alvarez. Really. But football is responsible for how good things are sports-wise in this city and he is a huge part of all of it.

Playing in Madison is supposed to be enough motivation.

Meh, didn't really bother me. They won it, let 'em revel in it. Although it doesn't really mean much to beat this Gopher FB team - NDSU did it, just about everyone does it (except Iowa!). I thought it would have been really ****ing funny if the refs had given UW a delay of game penalty for it though.

Now that was the Gopher team we have seen previously this season! Not sure who that was on Friday night.

I believe there is a sports-themed movie in which a player is telling the ref in advance that he's going to call him a "bad word". The ref tells him he better not or he'll get tossed. The player says it anywand and is ejected. Barry Alvarez is the ref and deserves the label.

The Axe, ehhhh. Its college and a fun border battle taking place this weekend with a very clear WI advantage. Maybe the kids thought it would spur on the hockey team to get a sweep. WI sports fans have alot to be happy about right now thats for sure..

Handyman who rarely posts here anymore made an excellent point about last nights game over on GPL:

Difference between BADger fans and fans that understand hockey: When Rau and Co. killed the 5 against UND Mariucci went nuts! Every clear it got louder, every minute it built up and when it was over even through the TV you could feel the electricity. When Sconnie killed their 5 minute major (terrible call) the fans barely cheered throughout (before the end of the period so they cant even use that excuse) and when they finished the kill the arena seemed almost silent. That should have been a turning point, the fans should have been screaming and yelling, intimidation at its finest. But since the band wasnt playing Roll Out the Barrels they were pretty much dumbfounded. What a horrible hockey fanbase, they cheered louder for the Axe than they did their goal.

I mean you have 13K + in the building, use them for something besides incredibly dumb sieve chants that no one even pays attention to anymore because they do them almost constantly.
