That's what BU does. Makes more sense. They seriously did this after a goal??

Also I want it on the record that I do not in any way, shape, or form condone these "teddy bear tosses," or as I prefer to call them, "teddy bear massacres." There is NO NEED to throw those poor teddy bears out there, they should be treated with respect and dignity and being unceremoniously thrown onto the ground is NOT VERY NICE and I DON'T LIKE IT.
You wouldn't have appreciated the one torturously hanging from the netting then I'll bet.

What if you're playing Maine or Brown?

I assume Grant wouldn't have approved UND (or SCSU) fans throwing Gophers (REAL ones, but already dead) onto the ice during men's games. Seriously, this used to happen with some regularity.

I have it from a reliable source that they even threw a dead Badger on the ice a time or two back in the day. It wasn't just the nickname that was hostile and abusive.

The worst part about this is the fact that at some point these poor creatures will have their fur harvested for faux fur coats.

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

Well, I kept the streak alive and went. As predicted, it was really hard to follow the game. I must say, though, that I can't complain that the didn't give season ticket holders the good seats because there weren't any. I think the Gophers played well, based on the score, but I didn't get a good feel for the play.

Okay, the real reason I went is because locker sponsors had their pictures taken with the player they sponsor this week. Rachel Ramsey overheard me saying that I wasn't planning to go and the look on her face could only be described as "horrified". So I felt guilty about it and went.

Well, if she has to be cold her locker sponsor should be cold as well.

Puzzle - There will be 3 from Gophers to participate Sochi 2014 games in Team Finland Olympic jerseys. 2 of them you already know but who is 3rd one?

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

glad I waited until game day to buy tickets, $30 for 5 tickets!!
if we only needed 4, it would have been $20, had to quickly find a ticket and gladly paid $10 for it

yeah, the sight lines were horrible, but it was a fun event

The Gophers controlled today's game through the first 33:57 but only had 1 goal to show for it. Then it was on, with 4 goals in the next 5 minutes. While they didn't score in the final period, Amanda Leveille kept the Mavericks at bay for the second-straight game.

Recap from the U.: Terry Scores Twice as Gophers Top Mavericks

Gotta love the way the scoring is spread out among this team. Kelly Terry, Rachael Bona, and Hannah Brandt each have 14 goals, Sarah Davis has 13, and Dani Cameranesi has 12. Four other Gophers have 7 goals or more, and a total of 13 different players have double-digit points with 10 regular-season games to play.

That is nice. I think I like the zero goals allowed even more. They haven't allowed more than two in a game since The Loss, after letting in three five times over the first seven weeks.

Any eyewitness reports on today's game beyond what was available from Dan's play-by-play and the live blog? It seemed like it was just a matter of time until pucks started going in leading up to the four-goal burst.

Not sure what Dan or the blog said, but I have to concur with your summary, ARM. Just a matter of time. Butters was playing out of her mind for the first 33 minutes, 57 seconds.
