Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey III

I see the Upper Midwest HS Girls Elite League has been in full swing, but is approaching the end of its fall season. I'm not sure when they went to six teams; there used to be just four so they may now be a little more watered down? In going through the results it looks like SSM U19 has only lost once so far, whereas in most previous years the "all star" Elite teams would beat them a little more often.

Here is SSM U19's schedule and results:

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey III

End of the year invitational tournament this weekend

SCHEDULE

One of the six MN high school "elite teams" ended up beating SSM U19 for the NIT "National Level" Championship.
Team Black 2, SSM U19 1

And Team Gray won the U16 "American Level" Championship, 4-3 over Revolution Black, with SSM U16 coming in 3rd.

Overall the MN high school girls did very well in the tourney, going 19-5 with two of the five losses to another MN Elite team.

Minnesota
Kippin Keller ..........................F ......................(Minnetonka) ..............Deephaven, MN
Patti Marshall ........................D ..........................(SSM) .............Thief River Falls, MN
Katie Robinson .......................D ...................(Dodge County) ..................Kasson, MN

Wisconsin
Presley Norby..................F ......................(Minnetonka) ....................Shorewood, MN
McKenzie Steffen.............D ......................(Hill-Murray)........White Bear Township, MN

From the 2016-2017 Commitments Thread. I'm only familiar with the two UW recruits from a few opportunities to watch both play. Two good catches for MJ IMO, based on my impressions from those opportunities.

On the other hand, I have not seen the Minnesota kids listed as committed to Minnesota. I have heard opinions regarding Miss Robinson from those who've seen her play that suggest she could be the top D in this particular class of MSHSL players. Really know nothing about Marshall or Keller.

Apparently an intense recruiting war being waged in the Land O' Lakes. Who's winning?

I thought she was a very solid D during the U-18 series with Canada in August. Good size, mobile, moves the puck well. She didn't attempt plays that had me throwing things at the screen, so that's good. ;)
