Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey III

Their win over the Section 8A #1 seed Thief River Falls was definitely an upset. East Grand Forks, MN - which is right across the Red River from UND's home town of Grand Forks, ND - is, as the "new" No. 1 seed in the State Tournament, the favorite to win this year's Class A tournament championship.

They've pretty much rolled over everyone they've played. They did lose twice to TRF but they were very closengames so I'm not surprised by the outcome. Mild upset.

I'm just trying to remember when the last time Warroad didn't make it to the section final.

I never understand these selections. How are places like Lakeville, Burnsville, or Blaine considered to be "East" or Red Wing to be Metro? Normally, it requires politicians to draw up such screwy districts.

Always got the impression their primary criteria was to stay away from Minneapolis and western burbs and leave that to the competition.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey III

Per the event schedule here it looks like it is pay per view at ~ $5 per day for the quarters.

If the Class A quarterfinal games tomorrow are anything like they've been in recent years, expect some very lopsided blowouts, other than the last game of the day which could be entertaining - not quality hockey, but entertaining. It usually does get a lot more interesting in the semifinal round.

The Class AA tournament, on the other hand and as usual, should be much more competitive and entertaining from the get-go.

WOW Mark the Date & Time for this statement!

Love to see HM capture their first State Title but if they do they will more than earn it! BSM appears loaded!
I'm playing the role of the HE or ECAC fan in this scenario. The heck with this west metro stranglehold on the title!!

That's the final I'd most like to see. BSM vs. HM. Both playing very well at the right time it seems.

State tournament though...anything can happen. Goes for the q'finals as well.

Strib Hub is showing Mounds View and Lakeville North tied at 2...second OT.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey III

Blake and Red Wing playing an excellent, fast paced game. There are some impressive underclassmen in this game.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey III

That was a helluva game. Red Wing had excellent chances to win it. They both did...before Blake finished on one of theirs to end it.

Bullock with the game winner. Talented player.
