maybe just in case not all that post here know...
but a HUGE swath of tech fans are on tech hockey guide discord channel... lots of fun and great, educated, conversations about tech hockey. really, it's worth your time;

with games starting today, and tech playing tomorrow, it will be awesome-busy.
consider giving it a try...

Perhaps a bit PO'ed he wasn't named CCHA RotY? ;-)
Larson's hoping to land in the B1G, I'll bet. We'll start seeing more of this at small schools with the new transfer rule as some guys like him bloom late, or don't get offered enough/any scholarship money from a blue blood school, or are told to wait another year. They will play their freshman season for a mid-major program who offers them a scholie, aim to light it up and "build their resume", and then bolt after a year. There will probably be some degree of collusion on this between programs and "family advisors", it's inevitable.
anyone can join... all kinds of topics. but it's mostly about tech hockey and the ccha...
you won't be disappointed trust me. and today, for the obvious reason(s), it will be like grand central...
it's just a much more dynamic space. this here is outdated and not as easy to use...
The link doesn't work. I'll have to decide if it's worthwhile to get someone under 50 to show me how to use it

Blake was OBVIOUSLY not having a good night. So why keep him in the game? Unless you were trying to embarrass him..... Which you succeeded in doing.
Also it was pretty obvious we were not only not prepared, but we were unable to react to the things they were doing. I wonder who gets the blame for that.
Our players tried hard. I wish them all the best in the future.
For Tech and Western to make this tournament alone was awesome, but that is where it ends. Tech man they were on a consistent trend all year and that got them a ranking to get in. Team is not built to score and against these type of teams that showed. If you do not have a 20%+ PP you are not winning at this time of year. However for CCHA teams alone getting in the top 20 and making the tourney is their recruiting pledge. Remember folks the portal is making this a Big Ten, HE, and NCHC Gold Elite tourney

Those teams weren't any good before the portal was even available so quit with the false claims about the portal. You're looking at the portal as if it's a one-way road. The CCHA has been the same CCHA since the reform. Tech has been the same tech for 20 years. A solid defensive team with no realistic chance of winning the NCAA. These results have nothing to do with the portal. Why would 99% of the top players ever want to go to tech? The answer to your problem is quite simple and it's not the portal. Since when has this not always been a showcase of the top programs in hockey with your occasional surprise? If you have to go back 40 years to answer that question that should tell you all you need to know.

In general a down B1G, NCHC, or HE team can rebuild based on their pick of portal players. You can't tell me that MiSU would be 1/2 as good as they were this year without their infusion of transfers. Look at them this year, they are again loading up on Portal talent. Once Wisconsin gets a new coach, tell me they won't do the same. Most of the players that are picked up by these teams are proven college level 20+ point scorers. The CCHA, ECAC, and AH gets guys who have some limiting factor (overall skill, playing time, poor prior year,...).
I can't speak for other teams, but overall Tech has done well with the portal/transfers and really hasn't lost that many non-grad transfers. Tech has had more hits (Kerow, 17-18 Munson, Works) then misses (18-19 Munson, Quercia)
To say the portal hasn't hurt the CCHA is not living in realty. LSSU (even excluding grad transfers) has been brutalized yearly and Ferris usually loses a key underclass contributor. NMU, BGSU, and BSU have been or are about to be on the losing end of the portal. Tech has seen few significant loses and could be argued is a slight winner. MnSU hasn't really impacted by the portal.
