I Agree with you. Some teams shoot all their shots from the blue line not anything close range. I just see people not just on the MIAC college page but all over that always say "yea the were out shot by 30 shots" I guess that's what bugs me you need to really see the game not the box score.

This is when the fun starts, score watching and there is always a score that you say WHAT? But that's the fun part.
ultimately the number of shots really doesn't matter. It really doesn't dictate who is good and who is bad, as has been shown for many years by GAC. Yes they are good, but the number of shot they put up often didn't correlate with goals. They probably have one of the worst shooting percentages in the nation. I would rather play for a team that can score 2 goals on 15 shots than a team that scores 1 on 40.
Really the only people helped/hurt by poor shot counting are the goalies. Undercounting hurts their stats. Overcounting helps. So in reality, the statistic that should be taken with a grain of salt is SV%.
