Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

That's exactly what happened. I asked Pattenden when I saw her at the men's game on Sunday. She told me she thought it bounced off her back.

The loan goal scored by Quinnipiac came from behind and over the net and went in off Pattenden's back. I think it may have been one of those cases in which the puck was lying on the back of the net after a shot, and the teams just wacked at the net, causing it to fly up in the air.

Delaney Collins was featured on the National News tonight on a segment about concussions in females...filmed at Tullio it appeared. Sad story...ended her career...still concerned about getting "bumped" even in practice. Interesting research being done on why concussions are apparently more prevalent among females.

Her experience is causing the Lakers players to be more aware of the after effects and of the benefits of reporting same early.

Who out of the freshman get there first goal, and what will the scores be for the weekend.

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

Yeah Shelbs is going to turn into Bendus by the time she is a senior. They have similar playing types.

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

Not what I expected to happen, but I guess games will be a lot different than in past years. Something I'm going to have to get used to.

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

5-0 win, but if all you saw was the first period, you'd be shocked by the ending. Friars controlled the game for at least the first 13 minutes before Mercyhurst showed up. Kudos to Pattenden for some quality stops and few if any bobbles.... a solid netminding effort when it was needed. Hurst stepped on the gas late and pretty much controlled the game through the latter two periods, but the jury was sure out in the early going.

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

That's what is expected of this team. They seem to never start the game strong then they turn it on once the game gets going. I'm glad Pattenden got a shutout. After the way last week went it's good for the whole team. Let's see if they come out tomorrow slow or maybe they actually play like they can for all 3 periods.

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

Why on earth would the Lakers schedule four games with Lindenwood? That's a joke....

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

Why on earth would the Lakers schedule four games with Lindenwood?

Don't know, but here are some possibilities:

a) They knew scheduling four games with Lindenwood would add four wins to their won/loss record
b) No, they were just trying to help a first year program get established in their first year of D1 hockey
c) They were having trouble filling out their own schedule, and didn't have any other good alternatives
d) All of the above
e) None of the above/we'll never know

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

Did they add more Lindenwood games after they lost the previously scheduled four games with Wayne State?

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

If anybody didn't already know Vicki Bendus and Jesse Scanzano will both be playing for Brampton tomorrow night, so if you want to see 2 of the best players that played for the hurst come to tomorrows game.

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

What's everyone's thoughts in this season. What has stood out. How do you think the season will be at the end.

Re: Mercyhurst Lakers 2011/2012

Bram has been absolutely dominant this year.. I think she is more comfortable without Bendus, Scanszano and Agosta because she has more confidence and takes control of the game. Bestland is off to a great start too. I love the Bram - Bram - Bestland line.. On the other hand, I expected more from Steadman and Jess Jones. Pattenden is also holding her own back there with a great start to the year. But so far this year, I think it is up to Bram how far the team goes this year.
