Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Has anyone heard how Oscar Nyquist(defenseman)is doing..brother of Gustav Nyquist..? Has he been recruited by any colleges as of yet..?.....have not heard if Maine is interested.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

He only has one assist in 19 games....

Liam Pecararo is with the Waterloo Blackhawks this weekend....He had an assist last night. I believe this is just a call up for the weekend with the Advantage in Michigan for a tournament.

Eric Schuhamer said he will be signing his letter of intent. Brian Morgan said he will be signing his NLOI.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Liam Pecararo will be with Waterloo for the next week...It's expected he will make a full time move to the USHL at Xmas.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

A friend of mine told me that Waterloo could have as many as 7 players out with Mono. This is the reason why so many players are being called up.

Top Draft client, Dylan Gareau, has withdrawn his commitment to the University of Maine. This decision is of his own volition. More to come.

Good news, IMO. I get the impression he had/has a lot of talent but it really hasn't happened for him at Cedar Rapids. I couldn't see him getting much ice time next year at Maine.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

I am a Roughrider fan.....Dylan Gareau would be a 3rd liner at best in college. I have not been impressed one bit with him here.

Thanks for your first-hand opinion. Made me feel better about things; I was under the impression that he was a stud. ( Though he'd fit-in just fine at Maine these days as a "third-liner" talent. ;) )

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Rumor out of Cedar Rapids this morning is that Sam Wolfe has been traded. I do not know where yet but I will keep this page updated when I hear it!

Is this related to Gareau de-committing? How did Wolfe look this year?
Good size who had a great start in preseason, but lately he thought his offensive ability was above what it is. Getting stuck in the Offensive zone which led to odd man rushes. If he would stay on the blue line, he would be really good.

I don't think it is...He was going to play for Bismarck this year if he didn't make the Cedar Rapids roster at the beginning of the year.

PORTLAND – The University of Maine men’s ice hockey team have lost yet another commitment for the 2013 season. Dylan Gareau, a native of Richmond, Ontario decommitted from the Black Bears on Monday.

The 19-year-old forward is in his second season with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the United States Hockey League where he has two goals and two assists in 15 games this season

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Very funny to me, that last night was the best Gareau has looked all year. Seems as though he is playing with a purpose now that he in uncommitted.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Maine just got a commitment from Josh Henke of the New Jersey Hitmen according to Judd Brackett, a Vancouver Canucks/Indiana Ice scout. 15 goals and 18 assists in 23 games a forward

Sam Wolfe has reported to Bismarck yesterday also

Not a bad pickup, has some previous USHL experience, as long as TW stays in Orono, it won't matter.
