Soft goals as usual. Defensive breakdowns. No physicality. Just embarrassing..

Its a lack of resources:rolleyes: Can't have a Dman hit anyone as they don't have the resources. They can wave their sticks at the opposing players but thats it.

Game tonight, I think Maine can win, but I fear if BU gets an early lead, Alfond will go silent and that won't be good. Martin needs to show why he was drafted and keep his mind in the game. The forwards need to backcheck for 60 minutes like they did against BC. Gus needs to score.

I blame the maine fans and yes even the media around here for why this team has nose dived. Problem is most of us mainers are just way to mellow and nice people( Yours truly has been angry with whitehead since the musical goalies act, not playing Morrison in the National Championship game cost us).

Ok heres why I say its the fans and local medias fault. There has been no real public scrutiny EVER of a coach that even the most loyal whitehead deciple has to admit has left a lot to be second guessed. How does this coach get a free pass? Well it starts with fans who keep makeing donations and reupping season tickets. The local media doesn't have the stones to EVER question the coach. If there was one real member of the media there would have been at least one article by someone questioning how a coach that has brought this program to lows that haven't been seen since the beginng of the program. No one on local sports talk ever ripped the coach on the air its funny or in the local papers the only thing ever written critical of the program or the coach isn't in the articles its under the reader comments.

Can you imagine this happening at North Carolina basketball or a major college football program like Michigan or Notre Dame? You have finished under .500 and haven't been to the playoffs in 3 years HERES YOUR 3 YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION BECAUSE YOUR SUCH A NICE GUY! Then raise the ticket prices on top of it all.

Maine is one of the premiere programs in the nation or it at used to be. Its about time people wake up and force some action before this program beceomes a joke.

Hey I hope we go on a run win the tourny ( not talking hockey east getting to boston doesn't tickle my fancy). If the team prooved me wrong I wouold gladly eat crow about whitehead. Problem is you know and I know the best this program will ever be under whitehead is mediocore at best.

ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE! What are you all going to do keep buying tickets like sheep and hope by some miracle the coach brings us to the promise land? Or are you going to take the timmy approach and keep buying the excuses for not racking up wins? Bottom line coaching in sports is all about wins and losses its about time whitehead is held accountable.

Re: Maine Black Bears 2010-2011 - Part Deux

Abbott said the Bears got “too high” after their goal flurry and “we stopped doing the things we did to get the lead. We tried to make plays we shouldn’t have made. We keep making the same mistakes.”

Same old story for the past four or five seasons now. We got too satisfied and quit working. Keep making the same mistakes.

Now just why do you suppose that is?

Re: Maine Black Bears 2010-2011 - Part Deux

Right. I have no qualms about the talent brought in since Corkum came on board and if you look at the recruit list in that thread, it aint bad. Problem today is the execution and desire on the ice. Thats the coach and captains. They arwnt getting it done. What resources change that? More gatorade? Bigger whoopie pies?

Extra dessert in the cafeteria? ;)

Re: Maine Black Bears 2010-2011 - Part Deux

That's exactly what I heard from an insider today. The resources Tim (and all Maine coaches, frankly) have at their disposal is pitiful compared with other programs. For example, BC is now part of the ACC and can draw on huge resources; the BTHC is on the way; the ECAC is on the rise. After talking with this person I feel reassured about Maine's present and future. I don't expect this to mollify the throngs calling for Tim's head but for the few people who come here for positive reasons, keep the faith.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled b!tc#fest.

Excuses excuses i guess merrimack has better facilities right?

Where's Priceless??????.......I guess that no answers are forthcoming.......just more talking out his........

Sorry I have a life that doesn't involve this board. It doesn't matter since I'm just talking out my * anyway.

Give me a break. Merrimack is having (one half of) one good season out of . . . what . . . fifteen?

You can pizz and moan about coaching. I'm not saying there's nothing there.

But the easiest way for Maine to win games like yesterday is to have more talent. Specifically, in net. You CAN'T tell me that giving up a hard-fought lead because of weak goals doesn't get a team down - that it makes them harder to coach, if you will. :)

Well you can. But you'd be wrong.

They spew his talking points.

He seemed a little too satisfied with his one point weekend.

Agree....... I was thinking the same thing he couldn't contain him self in that interview on tv after the game. I will say I liked the teams effort this weekend but the bottom line its late in the season and as usual this team isn't getting W's. The way they play on the road they have to take all their home games from here on out.

Re: Maine Black Bears 2010-2011 - Part Deux

Anyone believe this team will take a point on the big ice next weekend?
