Re: Maine Black Bears 2010-2011 - Part Deux

I'm a new contributor to the site so will try to make relevant post. I see no reason Maine cant take at least 3 out of 4 points this weekend. 8-1-1 at home, and really carried the play in the two games that weren't wins. UConn needed a goalie to stand on his head to get a tie,Maine outshot them 43-19 and Maine outplayed UNH for 50 minutes. Granted the UNH game can't get away from you like it did and is really hurting them in the PWR. They seem to have chances to put teams away late in games but get snakebitten and can't find the back of the net. Sweep this weekend could be just the momentum they need to steal one on the road next weekend at UNH. As far as how they have played on the road......uhhhh.......There are few easy wins on the road in Hockey East but I agree with many posters it is due to the lack of intensity on Maine's part. With that said, I think a split at UNH would be an accomplishment. Just trying to stay optimistic here. Gotta get better but win or lose, still out boys out there representing the far north.

Be careful... this board can drain your optimism. Good post.

So true about home ice. They need to defend it this weekend though. The next 2 weekends are big....4 points is the bench mark. 3 they can survive but its not good....and 5+ I would be much more optimistic about this club going down the stretch. 4 would be status quo.

Great post, welcome to the site.

How good is the video feed offered through the Maine website? For only $8 it's not a terribly big deal, but the B2 feed I bought through Merrimack a couple of weeks ago was horrendous and ridiculously small, so if it's going to be a rehash of that, or worse, it might be worth just listening on the radio.

Better. It works good if you can hook it up to your TV. Have done that.

It's on TV tonight, so you might be able to pick up a feed from justin.tv

Excellent, the 'Mack feed was not even half the size of my laptop screen and that was at 200% zoom, so hooking it up to anything was worthless. Seeing the puck was infrequent, so hopefully this is better.

Not good, Maine blows it once again or maybe it was Sirman who blew it? Awful goaltending in the second, he was great in the first and ok in the 3rd. Not going to win many games with tending like that.
Must win tomorrow or this season is the dumper

One of the best, if not the best, games I've ever seen a BU team play at Maine. More talented BU team than I expected. Kudos to them on a great win.

Everyone plays their best game at Alfond. ;)

Really?I didn't think either team played all that well extremely sloppy game. BU got some goaltending and Sirman sucked that was the biggest difference.

Re: Maine Black Bears 2010-2011 - Part Deux

Timmay should have called a timeout after BU's 4th goal, it was so dumb of him to wait until 20 seconds left in the game. I am so tired of this team being so unmotivated, blowing it every game. Not much luck tonight, hit a couple posts, Benedetto made some awful calls, and it was very clear Nyquist is not close to the player he was last year.

Fire Timmay?!?!
Nothing unusual in this one....maine chokes another lead away....timmay with his lost look and another wasted season!!! Thanks timmay!!! Heard the loser blake james was in the house....somebody should of kicked him in the nuggets for giving his loser buddy a 3yr extension.....enjoy timmay time, can't wait to see the quotes from the team....well we need to stay focused, play all 60minutes, another tough loss...how about we sux, the coach is a clueless and it will be an early golf season again......that's a wrap folks..

Re: Maine Black Bears 2010-2011 - Part Deux

Well, that was a wild and crazy game. BU allows three unanswered goals and then Maine allows three. Both teams turned the puck over at critical times. Maine had some great plays that Millan "stuffed". He was the difference maker in the game. Tomorrow night should be another battle, particularly after what happened at the end of the game.
