Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

It looked good because it was good. Bad, bad, bad call. Who cares

Not bad call! Worst call!!! I don't know that I have had more expletives fly than I did tonight. And I am so apathetic this year, but when you SCREW a team I'm sorry bit these officials should be Fired! There was NO reason to overturn that goal and take a win away from these kids. Joe Bertagna your officials took a tie away from Maine in a game vs. Vermont earlier in the year, but tonight was an embarrassment!!!

Seems like this happens to Maine all the time with the reviews as if we need anything else goin against us

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

Bad giveaways by Riley and O'Connor led to the first two Maine goals. I've liked Steve Swavely since the SLU series. He's going to be good player before he's done. Plays a power forward type game.

4th Maine Goal looked good to me....

I think it was the right call. :D

Seriously though, while there appeared (in super slo-mo) to be some contact, I was very surprised at the call. Not the only one on the night...

But I digress. Great work by Shore and he deserved having that count.

Boy. The old hate seems to be in place on the ice anyway. Should be a good one tomorrow.

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

Maine dominated after Tim let them play, following the bang-bang BU goals in the 1st. (Riley looked right at home in his #44 sweater; he brought back familar memories of Hegs yakking-up the puck deep in his own end.)

Watched the disallowed goal frame-by-frame in HD several times. It was a crap call. Swavely had his skates out of the crease before the puck got there, and what little contact there was prior to that was initiated by BU's O'Connor. (An inconsequentional nudge with his right pad.)

I am soooo fed-up with how incompetent college hockey officiating is. It feels like a waste of time to watch a game, whenever one of those bozos decides the outcome with some ridiculous call. I hope HEA has something to say publically about this one, just for the cold comfort it will afford us.

there does not have to b e contact,
the goal is good if, according to the rulebook
"An attacking player was in the crease but, in the opinion of the official, was not physically or visually preventing the goalkeeper from defending the goal."

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

Does Maine still refuse to show replays that are under review on the video board that was installed to show replays? I can remember going to a few games and the screen was blacked out during an official review. If so why do they black out reviews?

So Merrimack's the new #1 in Hockey east. I sure wish Maine had the state of the art facilities and long hockey tradition that Merrimack has so maybe we could attract some of that top shelf talent that they've been getting.:D

I'm not sure if it's an Alfond thing or just the men's hockey team but they have a policy to not show replays of controversial plays. Knowing maine there must be some good logic behind it...

Could be a league rule I don't think they show them at the Garden either

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

The simple answer is that they just don't want to get the crowd all riled up if the replays should show an obviously blown call.

Is there a more disappointing player on Maine this year than Mark Anthoine?
