Tyler Hirsch thinks he is crazy.
Not what I meant.
You did ask him to let you know when he had a nickname for one of the NHL players and he did just that. Maybe you should try being more clear.

No I didn't. I asked him to let me know when he comes up with a nickname for his university. One that screams "I desperately wish we had an NHL team of our own" would be best. "NHL University" is already taken.
I don't think following players you enjoyed watching in college is any more weird than obsessing over who has more youth teams in a geographical boundary.
Civic Pride <> Ex-Player Fetish
Maybe if you and your neighbors cared a little more about your state's hockey culture, your state would produce a little more hockey talent. And if your state produced a little more hockey talent, you'd probably feel less threatened/envious when I talk about Minnesota's hockey culture and traditions.

The problem is that you think everyone cares about their state's hockey culture. I care about hockey. period. and could care less where, or by whom it is played.
and when other states have success, you get threatened and feel envious enough that you must remind everyone where college hockey was "born".
"I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too."
I see nothing wrong with it.Being a season ticket holder I get attached to certain players and obviously will follow them throughout their NHL carreers .Don't see the problem with that.......to have a local NHL team to cheer for. I would HATE to be one of the guys who just follows ex-players of my college team in the NHL.
Anyone else think that's a bit creepy?

Miss ya on rubechat by the way.I don't see anything wrong with following former player's careers. I have distinguished what I feel constitutes taking it so far it's creepy.
