Hey Massachusetts! Coakley or Brown?

Re: Hey Massachusetts! Coakley or Brown?

So long as there are parties, so long as there are politicians with something to gain from the system, there will be those whose selfish desires draws them to the power of the Capitol.

ETA: Heh, it looks like Handy beat me to that Washington reference. He can do something right.

massachusetts itself could stand for a good republican revolution to clean out the crap... but if they are going to do the same thing but with a different label then its no good.

As for DC... if they act no different then it isn't helpful and one day the bill will come.

Re: Hey Massachusetts! Coakley or Brown?

If we had a conversation last summer:

  • Ted Kennedy was alive, but terminally ill
  • Coakley was churning backroom deals with other DNCers to take his seat
  • The Commonwealth would once again reverse the Special Election Vote Law for the political gain of (D)
  • Kennedy would pass this earth
  • a Republican took his seat

We would of thought you were high on crystal meth.

However, I am elated. Congratulations Senator-Elect Scott Brown (R-MA)!!!

Re: Hey Massachusetts! Coakley or Brown?

I'm feeling generous tonight. That's why I've been watching Olbermann/Maddow. One extra viewer increases their audience by about 2% and I'm happy to help 'em out.

Plus the schadenfreude of watching them tonight is positively addicting.

Re: Hey Massachusetts! Coakley or Brown?

We might have to fight UML for last place the way this season is going.

honestly?

do they consider themselves mainstream? do they think they are serious journalist here and not entertainers?

I think they do about as much as Glen Beck does...so hopefully the answer is no :p

Re: Hey Massachusetts! Coakley or Brown?

Unless you live in the Commonwealth, or really, really close to it - it's hard for anyone to understand how huge this is.

Well, we all had some idea. Teddy killed a girl and that wasn't enough for the people of Massachusetts to throw his big butt out. So, yeah, it's a really really big deal.

MSNBC is the left's answer to the giant pile of excrement that is Fox News. Same ****, slightly different scent. I'd rather have a channel of Bulgarian water polo highlights than cable news.

haha. Honestly, (and this is going to be really poorly phrased, my apologies to Henry W. Fowler), I think they think they have their pulse on america. While I can't fault them for following their beliefs, the way they go about it is disgusting and I honestly don't think they get it. They act like fox news is some sort of enemy of the state for being right of center but don't turn around and see that they are stark raving mad themselves. It's the snarky attitude of keith and rachel that really rubs me the wrong way. Very much in the style of bill cunningham. They think less of people who disagree with them.
