Gulf Oil Spill 2010

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

BP might have to re-brand, but don't forget the massive investments they have in various oil operations and whatnot. They can sustain the cash losses they're taking right now, and they can probably sustain some of the punitive damages they'll face.

Still, even if this is the end of BP, the end will mean that they're knocked down in value to the point where they are a takeover target. The underlying assets the company has are just too valuable to up and disappear.

Sounds like Chap. 7. ;)

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

What are the odds we see BP disappear in the public and we see a brand like Amoco re-emerge? Since BP owns Amoco, it could be an easy way for the company to step back from the public eye, re-brand itself and move on under a different branding all the while avoiding consumer backlash.

Wouldn't surprize me for them to do that. I bet a lot of the gas stations under the BP brand would love to do that right now.

Along with many others but when Palin says it, oh my god, its nat'l news

Balderdash.

1. Palin is in the news because she continually puts herself out there.
2. If anyone of her media 'stature' said the same thing immediately on the heels of this disaster it would garner just as much feedback.

Palin is in the news because liberals are afraid of her and need an example of something to hate. All it takes to take her out of the news is for you not to care anymore.

Contrary to your lunacy, liberals don't treat Sarah Palin like you treat your shadow. (Or girls. Or people.)

Maybe some liberals do. But she said something phenomenally stupid and then got called out on it.

Why whenever someone says anything, right or left, if they say something stupid people rush to claim its bias.

Sometimes the person just says something stupid! Can't you just live with that?

Palin is a gifted speaker. So is Obama. They both say stupid stuff from time to time. :D

I'm afraid of her because I think the Libs will keep winning elections as long as she keeps her mouth flapping.

Palin is in the news because they want her there... no more, no less.

edit: we can work on you flaws later... oh, right, you don't have those.

Time to invoke a famous "rule" and end this argument.

Hitler was a great public speaker. Too bad he said a lot of stupid things.

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

It's a sweet regurgitated talking point, but completely baseless. She is in the news because she puts herself there. If she disappeared there would be no story.

On the flipside, if people didn't want to know what she said next (Rep or Dem), she'd also disappear.

Otherwise, people like Amy Winehouse, Britney Spears, Tiger Woods/Ben Rothlisberger as of late, woulda disappeared a long time ago.

Why would she do that? She gets to have her cake and eat it, too. She makes outlandish statements and her supporters fawn all over her, then when people call "Bullshit" on her, she complains that they are biased against her.

Palin isn't a gifted speaker -- she's either a genuine moron who strikes a chord of recognition with other morons, or she's a good businesswoman doing the Down Home Shuffle as her last great pageant walk.

Like Obama and Reagan, Hitler believed the stupid things he said. So there's something to admire about Clinton: never believed his. :D
