Gulf Oil Spill 2010

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

No, instead of listening to the Hollywood liberal, we should continue to do what BP suggests. They've done a heckuva job so far.

Well, Obama seems to trust BP... after all, he doesn't seem to want to talk to them much.

Don't pass the buck here... Obama has a lot of resources he can pull at here... and many of them are much more well informed than people who make films... first off we can talk to the people who trained the people who make the films... I know that's deep thinking... but sometimes, yes, sometimes its necessary.

My thought... Obama has no means of coming out clean from this so he's avoiding the issue as much as possible... he literally has no control over this and the most he can do is try to assemble enough experts to muse on the subject but not much else... in any matter by getting involved he expends capital and if he makes mistakes he pays for it.... hence that's why the administration has acted as the have so far.

Obama's problem is that more or less he's the ideological guidance but not likely the leader. He is there as a person on the team to give speeches and to regulate some traffic but in general the rest is deferred to his inner circle.... mostly Axelrod and Jarrett... Emmanuel is mostly there as an expert of the "system" and he's basically the control that keeps his administration from running itself over a cliff. In general Obama has never had to be a leader himself but he's probably no mental slouch either. What we have here is somebody who believes his ideas should reign but can't lead naturally.

If this were a Bush administration we'd be on day 45 it being on every TV set all the time.

------

Foxton... net neutrality has nothing to do with that... and a democrat administration is CERTAINLY not going to regulate Google... especially as the founders of Google are progressives in good standing. Net neutrality has to do with the speed that internet traffic is handled and packaged and the right of the ISP to affect that... also as far as I know it has nothing to do with DNS set-ups or any other "corporatist" nightmare you dream up in your dystopian fantasies.

Oh please... This whole uproar over BP buying links on google thing is ridiculous. No one clicks those links. Hell, I've had to point out that section to people because it's almost universally ignored.

There are bigger fish to fry...

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

wasn't BP Obama's biggest campaign contributor?

Uh...what echo chamber show told you that?

The top 20 contributors to Obama's Campaign...BP isn't even on the list. In fact, I don't see a single oil company there.

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

Out of all the candidates BP has given money to, they gave Obama the most. Still, the "most" only totals up to around $75,000 in all. Paltry in comparison to what those upstanding Wall Street companies gave him.

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

Looking at total campaign contributions is pointless, anyway.

If I'm making the decision for a corporation, my number one consideration when choosing which campaign to support the most is: Who is going to win?

USC?!?! That corrupt organization? He should send the check back! :p :p

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

Cal /= USC :p

Your college sports privileges have been revoked!

****it all... I completely read that wrong. I probably saw the "S" from "Sachs" and read it as S. California. That's what I get for posting as I'm leaving for work...

Man, I hope I get an update from my friend the Nigerian Prince

Can you blame them? I'd be scamming every rich English-speaking person I could.

Not saying I'd be right. But those ethical distinctions would be beyond me if I were living with what they are . . .

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

Supposedly Obama spurned the help and expertise of the Dutch government early on... now, while I'm usually against these orange colored freaks you'd think maybe accepting some help or showing like you might actually give a **** would mean something. Guys, the president is voting "present" on this issue.

Re: Gulf Oil Spill 2010

Man, I found myself defending BP tonight when a bunch of us started to debate the whole thing... I feel ill.
