Got Snow?

Re: Got Snow?

I am not looking forward to this storm heading into Southeastern Wisconsin. On the plus side I am stocked up on beer so bring it on!

Re: Got Snow?

Here it comes...

It looks like the worst of it will have passed by the time the MN crowd starts rolling in. I'm also glad I'm doing my traveling during the daylight hours.

Good.

I don't mind driving in snow, actually. But I do mind possibly driving someone else's vehicle on roads that I don't really know at all, in a foreign land. ;)

Re: Got Snow?

Excited for the snow! Less excited for shoveling however. Something about working on homework, sipping spiked hot chocolate and watching the snow fall :)

A-men to that. Before the storm hits tomorrow, I'm making a run for some mint schnapps and/or more Baileys (or a cheaper alternative). :)

Re: Got Snow?

First lake effect snow of the season here in Oswego, the band was supposed to move south at about 1 but looks like it's stalled out now. Only 3-5 tonight though.

Re: Got Snow?

BOOOOOO! I don't want another hockey road trip involving driving to/from my destination in a snowstorm. It was bad enough last year when we went to Bemidji: whiteout on the way, sunny all day on the day we didn't travel, whiteout on the way back.
Honestly, when driving to Houghton, you should always just expect whiteout conditions after Bruce Crossings. Anything better than that, consider yourself lucky.

Re: Got Snow?

Just not enough statistical data. :p Seriously though, it's gotta be at least 2/3 for me for December-March over the past 2 winters.

Kinda cloudy both times I went (once in Dec, about the same time as this year) and then last March. No snow though, either time, arriving nor departing, really.

Re: Got Snow?

I've got mint and vanilla Dr. Gs.

Baileys would be amazing too...

Good choice.

I hit bad snow coming up there for a Tech/NMU game in Fall '06 (the same weekend we now have the Superior Showcase), and then moderate but not bad snow coming up there last January for the UND series Saturday game. Other than that, I haven't really hit much of anything weather wise, unless you want to count the crazy thunderstorm I drove through once this summer when I was headed up there.
Then again, I'm coming from the other direction.

You neglected to mention how the clouds parted and the sun started shining the moment we re-entered Minnesota on the way back from there.

Re: Got Snow?

Doesn't that always happen when one exits Wisconsin?

I had that happen to me one time. I was driving home from the Eagle River area, and it was foggy and cloudy as hell. As soon as I crossed the WI/MI line, the fog lifted and I saw sunshine.

Re: Got Snow?

We got an email telling us to work from home tomorrow if possible. It's snowmageddon!!!!!

I will be perfectly happy to work from home and watch it snow. And then go to hockey practice. :)

I've had two classes canceled so far, but only one was in direct anticipation of the weather.

I wish I would get that email...

I'll probably work from home even without it though.
