Got Snow?

Re: Got Snow?

the mister just got back from "town". he ranked the roads - on a scale of one to ten, ten being the worst he's ever seen - as an eight. 6-8 inches on the ground and really coming down. may have to plow before we go out tonight.
They are pretty bad. I slid all the way down Garnet St. this morning. Also, in the combined 5 minutes I was in Lot 26 walking to/from my car before/after class, I saw two car accidents where someone slid into a parked car. Needless to say, I decided to stay at work all afternoon instead of going back for my 2pm class.

Re: Got Snow?

Hello and welcome everyone to the six o'clock news. Tonight's top story: It snowing like it has every winter for the past who knows how long, but let's act like we live in Hawaii and freak out about it. Here's some video of a snowplow, and one of someone shoveling their sidewalk or using their snow blower to clear the driveway. Now let's go to an interview with generic county road commissioner about salting/plowing the roads, or random person off of the street to tell how they're able to cope with this annual event, which they've lived through their entire life. In related news, some idiots didn't give themselves extra time for the snow to get to work this morning, and they crashed because they went too fast and lost control.

Re: Got Snow?

A few years ago a friend of my roommates (who live in Corpus Christi, TX) sent pictures of him and his sister in their yard with what looked like a good 3/4 inches of snow on the ground. We laughed at them for complaining about driving in it (my roommate was from the area too, but he had been living in NoDak for 5 years or so).

Re: Got Snow?

Snow predicted in central MD tomorrow. 40 degree temperature swing in 2 days.

Re: Got Snow?

Not here in southern Taiwan ;)

But the lowest temp ever recorded here was only 47F

Actually, I'm hoping for some rain to wash some of the smog out of the air so we can actually see blue sky.

Re: Got Snow?

close to a foot last night. and snow heavily again.

could this be the year we can't keep the driveway open? stay tuned.

Re: Got Snow?

Snowing like hell now, sticking on the trees but not the road (it's about 29 / figure 34 on the blacktop). If this keeps up tonight it'll accumulate, and you only need one inch to stop all traffic with southern weather pansies. :p

I guess that I got out of town just in time.

Re: Got Snow?

Nothing here in the Central UP. A small dusting here and there, and people freaking out like they've never seen it before, but that's it.
