Gophers @ Tech Road Trip - Planning, Coordination, Taunting, etc.

Re: Gophers @ Tech Road Trip - Planning, Coordination, Taunting, etc.

Just saw it on the TV replay.

Sickness...

I got a kick out of commentator Chorske's comment that "obviously Tech played their best game tonight". I thought their D really struggled to move the puck early, looked like they were on edge afraid to hold on to the puck, Seigo didn't hold a puck in all night, D.Johnstone was invisible, Gordic was weak along the boards ... but they obviosly played their best game to beat the gophers. What a homer.

Have you watched a Minnesota broadcast before. Nauseating is the baseline...

Our fourth line and second d-pair really made all the difference, stepping up on a night when the Johnstones, Gordic, and Seigo did not have great games. And Copley was solid, but he's a freshman, so he's likely to have up and down games for awhile yet.

Quite sure Tech will try to also play their best game Saturday night.

lol. I saw that too, I don't think they heard one word Dawn was telling them about Tech's skill level this year. But that's OK, wins speak louder than rep.

Petan's goal made ESPN's SportCenter top plays on Friday night.

I also enjoyed the between periods interview with Petan. While interviewing him, the Gopher interviewer referenced how Tech was playing "the best team in the country."

I'm not too big of a semantics hawk, but he said it twice (interjected it awkwardly) which means that he knew what he was doing and it was intentional. He was fishing for Petan to acknowledge awe and respect while interviewing Petan about his awesome goal. Tool.

The Gophers are not the "best team in the country," they are the number 1 ranked team in the country and after only 3 games, there is a big difference between those two things.

Nauseating.

We are still th best team in the country. Tech happened to beat us. Oh well, it happens. So Gurt, et al.....haters gonna hate.

You were drinking all day yesterday and last night. Why are you not sleeping? ;)

Re: Gophers @ Tech Road Trip - Planning, Coordination, Taunting, etc.

Tech played hard and forechecked the hell out of the Gophers all night, we didn't adjust. I'm thinking coach Lucia will be showing the boys how to beat that forecheck tonight. I expect the Gophs will be ready.

Nice win Tech, you guys are much improved and should be battling for home ice.

Re: Gophers @ Tech Road Trip - Planning, Coordination, Taunting, etc.

I guess I thought this was going to be a tough weekend for the gophers, you got two unproven goalies the defense is going to be suspect for awhile. Reilly and Skeij are going to have a learning curve, the lines are different it going to take a few games to gel. with that being said this is a very talented team and we will have some bad games, you cant win them all.

Sure you are. Just ask your announcers. ;)

If you prove it over the long haul and finish the job, everyone else will acknowledge.

I agree on the goalie situation but the D who played terrible last night was Alt, yes Reilly did have a Freshman moment on a Tech 2 on 1 that lead to a goal but was ok other than that. Alt had a terrible game, I'm sure he will want to fix that tonight.

skeij had a few moments last night that lead to at least one goal, but so did alt and schmidt, reilly. It was an all around bad game for the defense last night. We needed a jake parenteau last night, some one to stay at home. we had terrible coverage in front of our net last night

When did you turn into an Jan Brady fan?

Great game by MTU last night, that win was well deserved and good teams take advantage when their opponents make mistakes and MTU made Alt and the Gophers' D pay 2-3 times.
