Yeah 151 to 138 doesn't sound right to me either. :)

If the guy shot it during warmups they counted it up there. Overrated stat in Duluth

Personally, I think the shot totals are misleading. Majority of their shots were low percentage shots from the outside and on dump-ins. Not to mention, I still think their score keeper is on crack. If this trend continues maybe I'll be a little more concerned about it, but at this point I am more concerned about our defensive zone turnovers, poor break-outs, and the ease in which we allow opponents to have our blue line. It's a young team and it's early. They'll improve. They have the work ethic, unlike years past.

After all, I had fun trolling... and you guys have provided plenty of "idiot" comments over the years. Show class? That's what most of the gophers posters have trouble doing as provided throughout this thread. As far as arrogance...hard time finding a fanbase more arrogant then those Gophers.

Shaking my head at all the classy Gopher fans whining about one penalty in a game you won?

= priceless... it was the only reason I started posting this afternoon. Thanks for the entertainment.

We were merely pointing out the stupidity of certain portions of your fan base whining about the officiating. I now see you're oblivious to reason.

Good series. There were some bright spots for you guys. Herbert and Brown are beasts. Your forecheck was pretty solid. I have no doubt the Dogs will bounce back.

Oh, you guys are onto the SOG statistic again. Must be that guy at the scorers table with the happy clicker. LOL.

Since I've had so much fun on your thread, shots on goal doesn't really matter as you can pump 40 shots into a goalies midsection and lose 4-0 (or whatever). It's the quality that count. And I'll say also that I didn't see alot of quality shots/saves tonight. Lots of stuff dumped in, taken from outside with no traffic, etc.

LOL...maybe in my boredom I'll join in your lovefest against the Sioux.

Here's some fodder (this was posted on GPL, and I verified it on tPB board; for the record, DHG/NSSHG ridiculed the following statement):

According to RWD, the Golden Gophers pride themselves on merely beating the national champions. The Bulldogs pride themselves on BEING the national champions.

:D You can't make that up.

I've been thinking about this a lot today, and after watching last night's game again I think the thing we need to work on the most is breaking the puck out in the face of a strong forecheck. Don talked about our forwards being in better position and our defensemen working better together, but I think it's more than that. If you watch UMD's forecheck, one player would pressure the puck carrier (defenseman) while another player would try to cut off the outlet pass by covering the strong-side winger. This puts a lot of pressure on our young defenders to make quick, accurate passes. One thing Herb Brooks used to do to beat this forecheck was to have the weak-side winger cheat down low and then have the defenseman carry the puck behind the net to the strong-side and then turn and wrap the puck along the boards back to the weak-side (where the weak-side winger would be waiting uncovered. This is just one easy way to beat this forecheck, but I think the coaching staff needs to do something schematically (at least early) to take some pressure off our young defensemen. You better believe other teams will see this in film study and employ the same aggressive forecheck if we don't.

You guys should start a thread about me! I do not think all your rage and anger toward me can be contained in just this one little weekend. There's gotta be some place to keep it going year-round.

I was all sad about your little sweep til I heard from Dirty about how much you folks enjoy talking about me. My ego is expanding more rapidly than the universe. Keep it up! I love it!

Exaggerate much? The only thing said about you is that you're a bitter baby and a sore loser. And if the shoe fits....

And the criticism isn't just coming from Gopher fans. Plenty of your own have chimed in as well on Penalty Box, GPL, KFAN, and Twitter.
