Gophers at Bulldogs Oct 14 & 15 - No more well wishes

Re: Gophers at Bulldogs Oct 14 & 15 - No more well wishes

Get over your lucky bounces, I'm not bothered by being 1-3, honestly I figured 2-2 to start the season with top two D gone and over 50% of the scoring going against preseason #1 that you ended their season and has nearly everyone back. It's hockey. But maybe you should feel insulted that Mich. Tech is also 4-0 and #1 in the Pairwise... and MN is #9. Once again... I'll repeat it Titletown USA is in Duluth, MN and hasn't been anywhere close to Mpls in oh 9 years? 4-0, ok but nice cupcake schedule opening weekend with Sacred Heart to build up the fanbases arrogance-typical MN Gophers non-conf. scheduling...you can hardly compare Notre Dame to Sacred Heart and as my previous post said and the person in quotes that actually seemed to watch the game and has some common sense and isn't all over the funny kool-aid like some of you are. MN was outplayed 4-4/5-5 all weekend. And, once again had help in coming out on top on the scoreboard. But, yup I'll agree the score is all that counts in the end. No sour grapes here however you guys really need to get over the BUDDISH CFB call, you won! That's the whole reason I decided to join in this lovefest post. You gophers fans complain even when you were lucky enough to win!?!

Huh?

Again, looking at pairwise now and trying to use that in an argument equals fail.

Good for Tech being 4-0, nice to see they aren't like the crappy 1-3 UMD team.

at least you now know you don't have to worry any about back to back championships.

Re: Gophers at Bulldogs Oct 14 & 15 - No more well wishes

almost as lucky as getting the weakest region ever for the NCAAs.

Yeah, that was a gift... getting Union and #1 seed Yale in their backyard.

Kinda like the gophers getting to play in St. Paul all the time right? Oh, that's right...they need to actually make the NCAAs, I know you're bitter because the drought is on its fouth year.

For those of you Gophers fans who actually had FF tickets last year that the Sioux fans didn't get to before you, I'd say there were about 12,000 strong Sioux fans taking up your seats last April. I hope you made out well on your seats! I enjoyed my view from row 5 with the allotment handed out. You might want to get your vacation plans set for FL in April now though. LOL

oh no, not Union and Yale poor poor UMD, I can see how that must have put the fear of god into your squad though.

Likewise for the Gophers... oh, yeah... you've already done that. But BOLD statement four games in... some frisky little Northern Pike swimming in these waters.

I like the ones who join in and say HUH? and WHAT? ...oh, and the IQ comments... that is junior college/jr. h.s material there.

Its been fun. Now, the UMD team that put 50+ SOG on a gophers hockey team (that hasn't allowed that since 1997 in back to back games). Had their own defensemen deflect in a goal each night in one goal games and lost to the then #1 team in the Country a week ago is CRAPPY...

That would make MN just a little better then crappy then right? like foul?

I agree the pairwise isn't being used as an argument...just had to point out the facts. Michigan Tech's wins are MUCH bigger then MN's sweep of UMD.
After all, the Gophers are the supremecy in the State of MN and were expected to sweep the crappy defending National Champion UMD Bulldogs right?
How many games did Tech win last year in the WCHA? I know they always seem to take one from the crappy UMD team. LOL

Koho, I thought you were going to bed, then you came up with the IQ comment... brilliant.

Yeah, what Regional did the Gophers get placed into?

Well, it seemed to work against North Dakota the prior year placing them against Yale.

Then again, tell us all how weak Notre Dame and Michigan were.

I know, I know, they weren't New Hampshire and Maine. Huge big conference schools.

Re: Gophers at Bulldogs Oct 14 & 15 - No more well wishes

blah blah blah.

Yeah, I know how it works. And sadly for UMD, huge adv. to MN in the PWR. But, a few wins over the correct teams and some help with some conf. teams beating some non-conference opponents that you beat helps. In about 4 weeks the PWR will be a better representation to where everyone sits then the polls.

I really start looking at it after Jan. 1st... I just had to point out that Tech is #1, I'm sure they're sharpening their pencils in Houghton!

Re: Gophers at Bulldogs Oct 14 & 15 - No more well wishes

Would you plese stop responding to the troll? No one that bitter, arrogant, myopic, nor such a completely sore winner and loser deserves an ounce of recognition. Seriously I'd rather listen to DL talk about the Gophers.

Sadly there's so many others out there like her that I'm regretting my UMD support last year during the NCAAs.

Re: Gophers at Bulldogs Oct 14 & 15 - No more well wishes

Love listening to idiots feabilishly try to rationalize losing.

You got swept. Deal with it with some class and move on.

My God.

Re: Gophers at Bulldogs Oct 14 & 15 - No more well wishes

Slap Shot, very true, but it's fun.

Little sister gets put in her place and she is all whiny now.

Re: Gophers at Bulldogs Oct 14 & 15 - No more well wishes

Agreed. Having your goalie outplay the other goalie by a mile helps too.
He'll have to continue playing solidly until the inexperienced D figures things out. Thankfully, despite the lopsided shot totals, most of them were kept to the outside (which is something I don't think would have happened the past few seasons with Hill coaching the defense). I don't know what the final shot totals / scoring chances were, but after a couple periods, UMD only had a 7-6 advantage per FSN's scoring chances stat despite the 30-10 SOG differential. With that said, MN didn't really have all that much time in the offensive zone, and that is largely due to the ineffective breakouts and plethora of turnovers at the blue lines due to sloppy passing / trying to do too much with the puck rather than doing a safe dump-in.

I'm sure the coaching staff will have plenty of ugly video to show the team over the coming week despite getting a couple wins this weekend. I'm cautiously optimistic about MN's chances this year (they have a solid goalie and have massively improved on special teams so far), but it's abundantly clear that the D is a work in progress. If they can cut down on the stupidity/carelessness back there, I like where things are headed.

Re: Gophers at Bulldogs Oct 14 & 15 - No more well wishes

After Friday night, I don't completely trust shot totals at Amsoil anyway.
