Re: Global War on Terror III: Dick Cheney's Hague ICC Vacation

I happen to agree with you. We created the mess and have no idea how to clean it up. Sounds like Dan Snyder.
Don't be silly. If we were Dan Snyder, we'd just keep pouring in good money after bad, never learning any lessons and blaming everyone else for our own mistakes.

Re: Global War on Terror III: Dick Cheney's Hague ICC Vacation

We are projected to have no US troops in Iraq after December 31. It's going to be hard to run the show from Kuwait.

"Projected" are reality are two very different things. My nephew is preparing to leave in less than a month for another year long tour of Basra. Some of his battalion have already left. So I am positive that the whole no US troops thing is a bunch of BS.

Well, I am hopeful the Iraqi government will listen to their domestic constituents rather than KBR's dollars. OTOH, your nephew would probably be safer in Basra than Kandahar.

In either case, he has our thanks and our hopes he will come home safely.

I hope the Iraq government does that too. But I doubt it. Heck, our own government who doesn't have nearly the problems that they do and we can't turn down bribe money so how can we expect the Iraqi's to?

Thanks. And you're correct about Basra. Earlier this year he didn't know if it was going to be Afghanistan or Iraq and I am selfishly happy it is Iraq. But like he told me a couple of weeks ago when we were talking about his deployment....."This is part of the reason why I joined the Army. To kick some terrorist a.s.s!" :)

The US killed AQ's #2 man once again. I imagine the #3 guy is offered a promotion every time we kill #2 and he turns it down. That's one corporate ladder where I wouldn't want to get on the top rungs.

He needs to declare war on the US, surrender, and get massive amounts of foreign aid. It's worked before, why not again??

Wrong movie. Think Peter Sellers (x3).

"C'mon, doc" "Help HIM. Help HIM" "Get back in the car, you smirking slut!"

"Let me see if I've got this straight: in order to be grounded, I've got to be crazy and I must be crazy to keep flying. But if I ask to be grounded, that means I'm not crazy any more and I have to keep flying."

The guy front row right is Leo McKern, who played the title role in "Rumpole of the Bailey," and referred to his wife as "she who must be obeyed."

A wise man, that Rumpole.

Which itself was a reference to "She."

25 years from now, I wonder if this will happen in Fallujah:
