Gender Studies I

Re: Gender Studies I

With me, I prefer:

My name

Miss Thundercat

That b-tch

Being called dear, sweetie, honey, etc is okay if my Chosen Family is calling me that.

She, her

"Guys" is okay.

NEVER call me dude. You may think it's an ironic term of endearment, but in my community, we don't like that and we wish people would stop with that.

Miss Amber is acceptable as well.

Re: Gender Studies I

I don’t get bothered by any of the terms mentioned, but I did grow up with everything male-centric so I don’t think I really think about it.

Re: Gender Studies I

Okay... Shawty is fine. Freak is fine (if in bed), but honey, doll, sweetie, and like terms are only fine if you're in the inner circle.

Honey is completely impersonal in the South. You sign as honey, sugar, sweetie, and darlin' at the title closing.

Re: Gender Studies I

The further south you get, especially in the service industry, the female servers call most everyone "sugar," "honey," etc.

While this is true, I'd never say it to a stranger myself. If some southern grandma working the diner counter wants to call you by terms of endearment, that's her business.

Re: Gender Studies I

The voice I have... hardly anyone wants to hear it. You need to be my voice.

Re: Gender Studies I

There are a lot of cavemen still out there. This doesn't surprise me at all.

I look forward to his MMA fight against any woman in the top 1000. Any weight class.

My guess is Mina Kurobe (106 lbs, 42 years old) knocks his lights out within 30 seconds.

Re: Gender Studies I

The State of Michigan made it super easy to change my gender marker. $9.16, a form, some signatures, and one ugly driver's license picture later, the State of Michigan recognizes me as a woman.
