Fun Prevention: Red Sox 2010 season thread part 1

Re: Fun Prevention: Red Sox 2010 season thread part 1

I think so, but it's extremely rare. I think the Pine Tar game was protested.

Re: Fun Prevention: Red Sox 2010 season thread part 1

The outcome of the game wasn't affected here, so I doubt that anything will happen.

On a side note... Only 3 teams have given up more runs (earned or not) than the Red Sox. Talk about run prevention!

When Theo talked about "run prevention", he added a second "prevention" under his breath. To that end, he's doing just fine. ;) :D

Wakefield will get the start Sunday in place of Josh Beckett.

Re: Fun Prevention: Red Sox 2010 season thread part 1

Do you suppose Girardi feels a little silly now that Beckett is on the DL?

Re: Fun Prevention: Red Sox 2010 season thread part 1

Did the refs leave the stadium?

I'm almost expecting to see a shot of them headed to Remy's bar...

eta:

like clockwork, as soon as I post...they're back.

I still get a kick out of how well Buchholz is doing this year. Before the season started, the general consensus seemed to be that the top 3 (Lester, Lackey, and Beckett) were rock solid, Wakefield is Wakefield, Dice-K would be back in the rotation, and so Buchholz is/was expendable. People spoke about him like an afterthought. I don't know if the stats bear it out that he's been the most solid pitcher so far this year, but I feel the most confident with him on the mound at this point (Lester is getting there).

Buccholz is something of a rarity...someone who is actually living up to his hype. He's not even 26 and he's already the Red Sox ace.

Lester is the ace. Buchholz will be very good. But Lester is the ace.
