I thought it was hilarious that Nieto scored during a loud, loud "Safety school" chant. Boy did the BC crowd quiet down after that (at least for a few minutes).

No actually, it's not ironic. At Conte, BU fans did not chant BC sucks more than 3/4 of the time. If you are commenting on how BU fans chant that a lot, well, fine. You all just acted like BU fans all night long. I'm totally flattered by that.

Interesting comment, given that more than 3/4s of all the chants last night from BC fans was BU sucks or Sux 2 BU. Also, the student fans that sit on the sides - are those the ones not worthy enough to sit behind either goal Or just late? Is that all GA or assigned seating? I thought the fans behind the goals did a much better job than the ones sitting on the side up high. Especially the ones that acted all UNH-y and gave the BU fans the finger when BU fans actually cheered for their school instead of against the team they were playing.

Sorry, guess I should have clarified...the BC sucks chanting fanboys in games not involving BC Anyway, make no mistake about it, BC has some fanboys as well...just not nearly as many.

As for giving the finger, obviously that's just retarded. So is the safety school chant as well as what might be the worst chant the students do: "What's the matter with (insert school)? (insert school) sucks. they've been doing this for years now and it's never been remotely clever, funny, etc.

What amazed me years ago about the UNH fans that did that was that it wasn't the students, but the regular, adult fans that would do it.

So is the safety school chant as well as what might be the worst chant the students do: "What's the matter with (insert school)? (insert school) sucks. they've been doing this for years now and it's never been remotely clever, funny, etc.

Is that what they were saying? I heard them saying something but couldn't make out what it was. Is there more to that? Sounded like they said two or three things.

the pavlov thing is so funny it is sad... that said, i love hearing bu fanboys chant "BC sucks" while they are losing 6-1 at home. how conflicted they must feel! betrayed by their first love... it is right up there with the "where's your beanpot" during the latter stages of the 5-2 whitewashing in the HE playoffs a few years back.

and "safety school" couldn't be more appropriate after 'Sayonara' Saponari was just denied by BC admissions!

One of the great college hockey philosophical debates caused by a Dartmouth/Maine player's last name I have yet to understand is why is "swallow" more offensive than "suck" they mean identical things, right? Is it just because one is much more common in the college hockey vernacular?

I wasn't really calling your opinion out, more it just reminded me of that time last year when we could say the name of 17 Maine skaters plus both goalies, but not the 18th player. One of HAA Management's finer moments But if BU still had football and SC happened to come to town during one of Ryan Succop's years, I have no doubt we would not have seen the administration do a thing.

As for last night it was only done in direct response to BC fans chanting "BU Sucks" was only done twice, got a ridiculous number of nearby BC fans to put their tail between their legs, and if alums are taking pictures and videos of opposing students during a blowout then students chanting swallows was far from the most immature thing this weekend.

If we were to chant "NU Swallows" out of thin air on Wednesday it'd be a different story.
