Elections 2012 -- Kull Wahad!!!

Re: Elections 2012 -- Kull Wahad!!!

Yeah, it's bogus that Romney doesn't know how to act in public.

I guess telling the truth means not knowing "how to act in public." Screw those so-called Palestinians. How can you have "refugee" camps 60 years later? Maybe if they'd stop teaching and encouraging their kids to be suicide bombers. Maybe if they'd stop advocating the destruction of Israel. Like somebody said this morning, if an American politician ISN'T p*ssing off the Palestinians he isn't doing his job. As to the Olympics, how dare a guy with his experience utter a word of criticism? Shocking. People in all "57 states" are concerned and upset.

You guys want to run this race on this garbage, knock yourselves out.

Regarding the cake thing, while a minor issue that doesn't deserve the press its getting, I would say the bakery has the right to refuse to write certain things on the cake, but should sell them a plain cake and whatever they want to write on it, or put two groom figures on top of it afterwards, is up to them. Much like I'd support a bakery not putting an offensive symbol (a swastika, swear words or something vulgar) if they didn't want to. However, a Jewish bakery can't refuse to sell to anyone with a German sounding last name for example, nor can you refuse to sell a cake to an interracial couple.

Way too reasonable. The gay rights enforcers will be coming for you, trust me.

Maybe if we actually knew what Romney stood for we'd have something else to talk about. As of right now the man has been on every side of every issue in the last 10 years.

Unlike His Gaypanderness, who is rock solid against gay marriage. Until he's not. Or for closing Gitmo. Until he's not. Or against "the surge." Until he's not. Or for trying terrorists in NYC. Until he's not.

I didn't see a crowd full of people with flip-flops in their hands chanting flip-flop flip-flop at a DNC National Convention.

There is no "me too" here. It's your inflexible party that doesn't allow evolution on issues until Romney steps in, then it's ok.

You're right. Only because they didn't think of it. Are you still obsessing that John "do you know who I am" Kerry and his rich b*tch wife lost in '04? Give it up, would ya? This is the genius who said: "I was for the war before I was against it." Besides, those teachers and other union goons who infest DNCons (SEIU, UAW, UMW, etc) need to be able to pay full attention to the National Welfare Rights organization and other far left flora and fauna on display for the world to see. They don't have time for flip flops and other training aids.

When His Transparentness changes his mind, he's "evolved." If Romney does it, he's a "flip flopper." Regardless of where they stand, I'm guessing most people would say they're both "evolving" or "flip flopping," your choice.

What you call "inflexible" others might see as standing on principle. Or even having principles in the first place.

Getting back to Mr. Botox. Kerry said one thing in his campaign with which I was in total agreement. He said anyone who voted against the authorization for the war in Afghanistan (with an army in the field) didn't deserve to be president. With Howard Dean seemingly breathing down his neck, that putz voted against the spending on final approval. He was right, he didn't deserve to be president. He must have evolved, don't you think?

Let's be honest here, an Olympics is an enormous, mind boggling undertaking. And it's inevitable there will be some glitches. But it is interesting to note that the AP and others are noticing the problems after professing "shock," "shock" that Romney would point out gently, what everyone in London already knew. Once again, the MSM ran interference for their guy.

It's not what he said, it's when and where he said it. When invited to someone else's house for dinner for the very first time you don't blurt out, "You know, I don't care much for your decor and this wine isn't a good fit with salmon". Is it technically true and honest? Sure. Is it in bad form? Yes also.

In Obamaville, for sure. What you conveniently leave out, Ms Manners, is Romney's rather significant Olympic experience. He wasn't just talking through his hat. He was asked a question and he answered it. He didn't "blurt" out anything. No malice. No grandstanding. No "we are the ones we've been waiting for." Just an answer. As I mentioned earlier, if His Patheticness want to run on this sh*t, be my guest.

I'm pretty certain the millions of Americans unemployed or underemployed don't give a rat's a*s.

Meanwhile, His Ineptitudeness sends back the Winston Churchill bust, then sends out one of his flunkies to lie about it. To his credit, the flunky has apologized to Krauthammer. But which is really an insult? Expressing low key concerns about security arrangements for the Games, after tens of thousands of words on that very subject have appeared in the press? Or deliberately insulting the greatest Brit of the 20th Century?

You do know that Ann Lois Davies Romney was the daughter of a prominent Detroit industrialist and the one-time Mayor of Bloomfield Hills, one of Detroit's wealthiest suburbs? She went to Kingswood (the all-girls school at Cranbrook, which is still one of Detroit's most prestigious private schools) where she met and agreed to marry Mitt.

Just pointing out the irony of your characterization.

Re: Elections 2012 -- Kull Wahad!!!

As much as I enjoy the schadenfreude of a group of black pastors criticizing His Gaypanderness, honestly compels me to say equating gay marriage with sexual abuse of children is particularly ignorant and stupid. The vast majority of pedophiles abuse little girls and many (most?) of them are in traditional marriages. Does gay marriage account for that? As I've mentioned before, evidently many pedophiles have no preference, they'll just abuse whoever's available. This idea that pedophilia is some sort of "gay" problem is nonsense, and there are mountains of data to prove it.

Has Ann Romney shot off her mouth like Teresa Heinz Kerry (who changed her name back to Teresa Heinz after the election)? The operative part of my characterization is not "rich," it's "b*tch." In discussing b*tchiness, Ann Romney is a rookie, compared to a hall of famer. So there's no irony and certainly no comparison here.

Remember this? "Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job—I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things."

In your wildest dreams can you imagine Ann Romney ever saying anything so b*tchy (and impirically wrong) as that about Michelle, or anyone else for that matter?

Re: Elections 2012 -- Kull Wahad!!!

But there is still that pesky question of religious belief.

Which is already covered by current discrimination laws. Bona fide religious positions are exempt from pretty much all discrimination laws.

please remember not every one who does disagree with their agenda in whole or in part is a bigot.

If not a bigot, then what? What possible reason is there for denying gay people equal rights except for bigotry against the lifestyle? If the answer is "the bible" "God said so" or the like, then it's merely gold-plated bigotry.

Sorry if your religion says gayness is a sin, but if you have a business open to the public, you should not be able to refuse to serve someone just because they're gay, black, Muslim, old, disabled, or any other protected class. You are not contradicting your religious beliefs by making a wedding cake for or taking photographs at a gay marriage. You're merely being a professional providing a service to a member of the general public like you presumably set out to do when you started your business.

Prejudice is prejudice, regardless of the reason.

Obviously everybody in history who has harbored bigoted thoughts has also thought he had "a good reason." Women can't do math. Gingers have no souls. Gays are an affront to God.

Same shit, different defense.

Everybody's got bigotries and nobody expects us to transcend them personally (well, except religion is supposed to be about that), but one of the rules of a pluralistic society is we have to give them up in the public space. That's why I have to accept that Texans are allowed to vote. I don't like it either, but there it is.

You're so anxious to share gay orthodoxy boilerplate with us you've evidently overlooked the fact that (as far as I can tell) nobody has suggested Chick-fil-a "discriminates" against anyone, either in employment or as customers. The CEO has merely expressed his personal opinion. And because of that, the gay bully boys are out talking about pink triangles.

BTW. Who gets to define "bona fide religious positions?" You? Pass. Who gets to define who's a "bigot' and who's not. You? Pass again.

It's like playing B-17 on the juke box. You know what you're gonna get, regardless of whether it's relevant or not. You tolerance enforcers, in additiion to being profoundly illogical and hypocritical in this case, are also grossly over reacting. The mayors in Chicago, Boston and SF (coming soon, NY?) are dead wrong. They don't have the authority to ban a legal business from their cities, absent any finding the business has broken any laws. Or advocates the breaking of any laws. D*mn them, I can't get waffle fries on Sunday!

This has nothing to do with the "rules of a pluralistic society" or "giving up (bigotries) in the public space." Why don't you quit with the bumper stickers and give us an example of the "bigotries" you're referring to. This dustup has everything to do with intolerant, hypocritical, bigoted people who SAY they respect people of faith, but really don't. At least the ones who happen to be, gasp, Christians.

Remind us where you stood on the "Ground Zero Mosque." I don't recall, but I'd say an educated guess had you delivering snarky daily lectures about "pluralism" and "respecting the religions of others." Somehow this is different. What was it Church Lady used to say: "Could it be SATAN?"

I didn't leave out anything Mrs. Bloviate. Even if I were an expert at decorating and pairing wine with food I wouldn't walk into a dinner party in which I didn't even know the host and bellow about how I could have done it better. Regardless I don't think anyone has suggested Obama should run on this (and he won't) so your latest bed wetting was unnecessary. Lighten up, Francis or at least promise not to run out of whatever medication prevents you from completely imploding. I'd really fukking hate to be around you when milk has been spilt.
