EC will be fine

Re: EC will be fine

EC better start putting the puck in the net. The entire year they have been far more aggressive offensively than years past. The last few games they have gone right back to not being able clear the puck out of there zone therefore not being able to setup decent scoring opportunities. Recently, their lack of intensity is also a major problem and is starting to catch up with them. These are great athletes and have proved they can play and beat anyone. Come on guys go out with a bang for some of you this may be the last time you play hockey. You have great fan support go out on a great note!

Did you see the game on Saturday? EC had at least two empty nets and hit a post. Although they didn't score, they had the chances to win that game. They had plenty of chances to win that game.

Re: EC will be fine

i think neumann is in their head and being 1-4 in their last 5 doesn't help, good luck

I don't think I like either team's chances should EC or Manhattanville make it into the NCAA Tournament. If EC and Manhattanville meet in the ECAC West Championship, I am predicting an EC victory.

Speaking of that tournament, if I were you I would be concerned with Hobart. They didn't look too bad at the domes a few weeks back.

Re: EC will be fine

Not for nothing but we can go back plenty of games when either team hits the post or misses some scoring opportunities. I believe Manhattanville may have hit the post also. Those opportunities only came when Elmira stepped up their intensity when the game began to slip away. They need to have that same intensity more often during the game. I do not agree with you on Hobart playing well against Elmira. I believe it was more in the way Elmira came out to play. Right now I would not guarantee any Elmira victories based on the last few games and there end of the year collapses.

I believe it was a combination of both

I agree 110%

Re: EC will be fine

What in the world?!

Have some faith in this team! EC is a lot better team than they have shown over the past 5 games. They have too much talent to put a nail in the coffin this early. Sheesh! You sound like Boston Redsox fans before they finally beat the Yankees after being down 3 games to 0, trailing in game 4 with Mariano Rivera warming up. Didn't the Redsox go on to win the World Series for the first time in around 90 years?

SOAR EAGLES!

Re: EC will be fine

Mville has been getting great goaltending over the last month. This makes them extremely dangerous. The only games they lost early was when they didn't have a #1 goalie. Now they have one. Look out. Wouldn't be surprised if this team makes some noise before it's all said and done.

I dont think Elmira is gonna get past Neuman anyway. Bad matchup just look at the history. I bet EC was praying for Hobart.

Re: EC will be fine

i was trying to help , m'ville is 13-2-1 in their last 16 and needs no adjustment

Interesting comment since M-Ville has beaten 1 ranked team over those 16 games....EC 1-0 on goaltender interference 3 days ago. Not that EC has beaten powerhouses as of late, but by your comment you seem to be banking on the Assumtions, Beckers, and Conn games as true, tried, and tested for this squad.

I agree they are better than the last 5 games BUT, Now is not the time to be "slacking off"? What ever you call it, it has happened the same the past three years, we have reason behind our "concern"
When they win the ECAC-W Championship Game, then I'll be happy, not a day before. I have earned that "right" as a fan of over 20+ yrs.

Re: EC will be fine

I just know that since that 5-4 start(3wins vs lebval),settling on a#1goalie,not playing their two D-1 transfers and returning their two best senior forwards to the lineup,M'ville is 13-2-1 with 7 hit posts in those 2-3,3-4 losses and0-0tie(11 shots in ot),not to mention bombarding and outshooting virtually everyone they play.
-you can't help who you play
-by the way this team has only 2 non-conf losses in the last 2 years and set an all time ncaa record for consecutive road wins in spite of playing in an ok conf

Yeah but they also have enrolled students such as these:

:D .

When your SOS is 56th in the nation, and you play in the ECAC West, the conclusion has to be that those non-conf wins don't mean much. There is a reason that the NCAA will have Manhattanville ranked behind Elmira when the rankings are published later on today.

Exactly. Elmira and Manhattanville gained nothing on each other last weekend.

Plain and simply whoever wins the ECAC West between Neumann/Manhattanville/Elmira will get the Pool B bid.

Only one of them will be going.

Would love to see Hobart win it...just to stir things up:D

Once the MASCAC gets its Pool A bid, there will be no Pool B. If that had happened this year, my reading is that the ECAC West would be left out in the cold. Somehow the ECAC West needs to add two (now) teams or be in jeopardy of becoming irrelevant. Adding two teams before the MASCAC autobid would preserve Pool B, while the league went through the two year waiting period.

Re: EC will be fine

I'm no math or computer whizz but something is amiss in all these numbers. You think that any conference awash in such weak SOS' and inept teams(lebval 0-50) would not stack-up in any conf-conf season series. Can someone tell me how the ecacw compares to the suny in a conf.-conf season series?
