EC vs. Manhattanville ECAC WEST Final

Re: EC vs. Manhattanville ECAC WEST Final

There is however one technical reason that EC persists as a monkey on M'villes back.I believe that besides RIT,EC is the only other program that M'ville has a losing record against overall(3 results or more) and we all know that RIT went from monkey to gorilla and left;on the other hand EC remains a mere monkey.

A mere monkey? I've seen some big monkies!!

Final player comment ,my son is a senior -last shot at it all

Good luck Valiant Senior NoMan and I understand the jinx bit. Sometimes I turn off the radio/TV when it's going badly and when I turn it back on things have improved. Who would have thought that is all it takes for my team to win. Can't tell you guys who that team is cause it might jinx them.:)

When listening to games on the radio or webcast 'back in the day', every time I would go the fridge to get a beer, someone would score (often it was RIT). I used to drink a lot because of it. Many in the 'discussion room' would encourage my consumption as well. Man, those were tough times! :D

I'm finally old enough to join you for a beer in that discussion room.

Jeez man....it's been too long since you've posted around these parts.

The Prez will be making an appearance in Elmira this weekend. Packing up the car as we speak to hit the road back to Big Flats.

Can't wait for Saturday!

Re: Superstitions

Hope YOU don't Jinx us;)

I was at the 2006 NCAA quarterfinal game;)

I also witnessed EC beat Oswego, giving the Lakers their lone loss of the season up until the Geneseo game.

I think I'll be alright.

I haven't seen this team play though since the Elmira/Plattsburgh tie way back in January during the Ultimate Hockey Weekend.

You have bigger problems than Derek, Old Buddy, I will be in the area this weekend and I just have to stop by for this one... Look forward to seeing everyone, didn't you all just miss me ;) :D

Re: EC vs. Manhattanville ECAC WEST Final

This is a huge game and all stops must be pulled.I am not putting my winless record on the line and will be safely listening from out of the region (ncaa 500 mile rule);however,I would greatly appreciate all suggestions regarding putting the 'whammy' on EC for this one.

Hi Tom, I see no spelling mistakes in this post:eek: ;)

Pre-Game

Pre-Game

Well ya know, I never really went away... just took a few years off! ;)

Damn, Tom’s gonna be in-town!!?? Bring some Corner down with you, my friend!! Well that settles it then... 45-ish° and Sunny (“the wife” won’t complain about that), P&G’s around, Tom in-town (maybe)... TAILGATING IT IS!! If no tailgating, then definitely a pre-game social at Hanover Grille.

Scott – Are you coming-down to cover this one? For some added incentive... You could pick-up a bottle on your way down. I’ll ask “the wife” if you can deduct it as a travel expense. ;)

Cheers!!!

I remember a game when we had RIT on home ice. I had high hopes but RIT came out strong and dominated play. The score was 4-0 midway through the third and I left the game depressed and didn't even tune in to Ducky on the way home. The next day I learned we had had an amazing come back and won. Thats when I started believing in Jinxes. And here all this time I thought it was me leaving the game that had allowed us to come back and win when it was probably just you drinking 5 beers in 1/2 of a period. Thanks TTF:)

Yes my spelling has improved thanks to built in spell check ;)

Its not so much that I miss EC, its more so that RIT is idle this weekend and well guess I can spill the little secert some already know, but I am actually dating a girl who hails from Pine City, NY right near you all. I know its a little Ironic...

TTF I love the idea, but my lady has already arranged dinner at 4:15 with her folks. Maybe if we get out early we can catch you for tailgate, but eitherway will see everyone at the Wonderbra....errr I mean Domes...

Who you rootin' for?

Well you guys did get Ceglarski out of there and Levinthal is still with Manhattanville...

Honestly though I just love to see triple OT thriller...

Will tickets be an issue? I see the Jackels are in town so I figure they will not. I actually was at a Jackels game a month ago and they did not have any fights

Tom, Unlike the "RIT Days" tickets are never a problem;)

Re: Superstitions

Seriously.....

Elmira is my hometown...Haven't been home since Christmas...Opportunity opened up to go down so I jumped on it. Don't have too many free weekends with the sports reporter job.

It's probably a good thing I'm not at the Oswego/Plattsburgh game. The last time I saw one of my teams beat Plattsburgh was in 2006.
