EC vs. Manhattanville ECAC WEST Final

Re: EC vs. Manhattanville ECAC WEST Final

See you all next year, it has to be better, just look at this Freshman class, perhaps the best ever.
I would say this years sophomore class was the best ever. Either way. GREAT young talent. I said it earlier this year and I'll repeat it now, EC will win a national championship by 2012.

Re: EC vs. Manhattanville ECAC WEST Final

Elmira lost it. We had a weak performance from our goaltender in the biggest game of the season and sat on a one goal lead in the 3rd period and let Manhattanville dictate the play.

And THAT I completely disagree with. I felt that EC controlled most of the game. A little sluggish to start the third, but after that they controlled most of the play. How you thought Tuttle gave a "weak performance" is mind boggling to me.

My stomach is churning,I need something to pass the time. Can anyone possibly post the video of the last seconds of last nights game and the OT winner?

All four goals were weak.

Im not blaming the loss on Tuttle by any means. But he saves three of the four goals most nights.

How the hell can you say Elmira dictated the play when were on the defensive the ENTIRE third period and managed just three shots? two of them coming on the PP.

I was talking about the third period, not the entire game.

You're an idiot if you think anything that I said on this board had any sort of impact on that game.

I'd love to meet you next game. Please stop on up.

You're going to be at the Domes on Wednesday night? Don't you have another high school game to cover like far far away?

Congrats to the Curry Colonel's and good luck at Norwich.

Not nearly as far away as you are from having a clue.

Re: EC vs. Manhattanville ECAC WEST Final

Well from a "netural" observer...

My eyes saw a great game Saturday night. Definitely top 10 college hockey games I have ever seen. I thought it was a pretty even game. Elmira rode the emotion of the crowd well and looked to carry play, but Manhattanville played a great road came and weathered the storm.

I really did not see any weak goals, all though I did miss the first Manhattanville goal. The second goal was a backhand through traffic, third was bodies everywhere, I doubt he ever saw the puck. Would need to see a reply looked like he had the post I think there was puck luck for Manhattanville up his pad and in. It definitely was in before the net came off.

Derek I don't really see how you can say that Tuttle allowed 3 weak goals and not be blamed for the loss. You just can't allow more than one softie in a championship and win 99% of the time. So I don't think he allowed any softies, but I will give you this I sat here for ten minutes and tried to think of one big save he made and none came to mind.

On the game tying goal in the dying seconds of regulation. I have always believed that if your under 10 seconds with a one goal lead and your in any kind of trouble, tackle someone. The odds of someone scoring with that little time is small. One thing missed in the discussion of that play is losing the draw so cleanly is a killer. But after that point EC should have just tackled anyone going to the net and give Tuttle a clear look.

A big thumbs down to the Elmira fans who lined the walkway level and screamed absurdities at Manhattanville during the post game ceremony. This doesn't include any of the old timers that I know from the board. I am not one to get offended easily, but I found those actions in very poor taste. I've been there before, it hurts when you lose a game to a rival like that. But there is not honor in those actions after the game is won and the other team has earned the victory.

Head to head no matter how you rationalize it ..Elmira was the better team over the year then Manhattenville.. considr schedule league play and all opposition ..isn't elmira still the only team to beat oswego....

|Manhattenville with a lucky bouce on a missed call which really for all that want to be fair and were there to see it resulting in the 2 wins they got ...again from a ref ..who hasn't made the proper call in elmira ever from what i 'vbe heard..is not enough i would hope ....some time the score of a game doesn't indicate who the best team might be ..but win lose or draw ..i sincerely wish everyone on this forum the best ..btw i don't think elmira's freshmen class in all due respect to Coach jackson who did his best ..helped the team ..that and one important injury which resulted ina key guy missing the season ( for which he's been red shirted ) go Rick S was big ..and my last comment with coach Saul in elmira ..they will be winning a national championship soon and then in the future with him at the helm many times after ..i said that when he went to potsdam so glad he' back with Elmira ..all my best .. it's been a slice

The Geneseo Knights pulled a stunner on the Lakers too:mad: - not that they had anything to play for afterwards anyway (expelled from playoff contention due to Canadian tuition violations).

#1 Oswego lost twice. They lost to Geneseo to close out the regular season.

#2 Elmira is still alive...They got the Pool B bid. Your post makes it sound like you think its over?

Hockeylongtimer,

I don't know why you are cutting down the Freshmen as not helping the team. Given all the talent from the higher levels, the Freshman did a good job in the roles that they were given. They are a big part of Elmira's future. They will contribute more as time goes on. Support them.

I completely agree. With the exception of Masters, I believe the sophomores lead the team in scoring. Vaillancourt saw limited time last year and look what he did this year. Morikawa and Hoey caught my eye whenever they got in the game. MacDonald only had 2 games, maybe 3 in net, but he looked very solid.

No disrespect to this years juniors or seniors, but I truly believe that by the time the sophomore class graduates in two more seasons, they will be NCAA Champions. Might happen this year, you never know.
