Dump Term 2, Part 2: "A third term would be a big shattering."

For as much crap that we (deservedly) give to the networks for helping Dump, the affiliate owners like Sinclair, Tegna, and Nexstar are far far worse. They’ve been building the fascist takeover runway unchecked for 30 plus years.
When you sign up to be network affiliate, you agree to broadcast almost all of the network content.

There are times you can break that agreement, but they are limited, both in times and hours. If you break that agreement, the network has the right to kick you out as an affiliate.

It's all basic network-affiliate contracts. Now before anyone says, but then a network could be left with a huge deficit of affiliates if there is a mass action by the network against them, in some ways you could be right. But in bigger cities, there are plenty of independent stations who would jump at being an affiliate.

One thing the networks can't control is their local news coverage and that's where these massive companies spread their fascist BS, as John Oliver famously covered years ago.

Meanwhile Senate Democrats:

Now if they could only find the balls to do that every time school children are shot.....

Meanwhile Senate Democrats:

Yeah, the Democrats can fuck right off after this.

I am done pulling the lever for moderates who only care about keeping their phony jobs and excessive salaries. I will leave parts of a ballot blank if I must, or do a write-in.

The infuriating thing will be when they ramp up in '26 and '28 how they have to "save democracy." Y'all had a chance, and you couldn't even try.

Trump was banned from Twitter for a while. Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert being cancelled is not against the law. They're all private companies and they can do what they want.

The difference here is the FCC got involved and pressured ABC to cancel Jimmy. The FCC was threatening to kill the merger CBS had planned so they cancelled Stephen and paid off Trump in his lawsuit against 60 Minutes. All of which will just empower the bullies to do more.

Jimmy Kimmel and The Late Show were both regulated by the FCC in everything they did. Trump's banning from Twitter was because of the breaking of it's terms of service. Basically the had content moderation. What we have now on Twitter is NO CONTENT moderation. The right lost it's mind over content moderation. But, now it's ok to content moderate so called "lliberal" content. All probably in retaliation for the content moderation that was being done in the social media space.

I can tell you. As a liberal who doesn't block anyone on this site despite many others doing it. And I don't block content on Facebook either.

1. I quit twitter cause it is a fucking toilet now.
2. Facebook I use less and less and the utter crapfest it has become is sad.

Again this amplifies that liberals are consistent and Republicans are hypocrites (in general). We have no problem with the FCC and it's standards for TV and radio. We also had no problem with content moderation on social media.

Republicans cannot stand content moderation on social media, and think they should be able to choose what's funny and what's not on late night TV.

I've always been of the belief since Nader that "we" needed to vote D no matter what cause they always were going to be better than R. And I still believe that. But, my level of disappointment with the current crop of D's is reaching epic proportions.
If only Democrats believed in "Vote Blue NonMatter Who" we would be in a much better place.
