I can tell you why. The Republicans in general are as dumb as their constituents. A lot of these people do not like expertise or people that know what they're talking about. So, they vote for the idiot cause it makes them feel good that they are at the same level.

It just seems like an excuse to pretend that they are doing something while they know nothing is going to happen. That's how they suck people in. Susan Collins is the poster child for this method.

A small part of me wants to go to my 20-year HS reunion this fall just to see who's MAGA these days.
I can definitely make some good guesses, but much like how my own politics changed after leaving the Roman Catholic cult, I'm sure there would be a few surprises, too.At the same time though, do I really want to spend 2-3 hours shaking hands and faking interest in a bunch of upper class twits in their late 30s that I haven't seen in 20 years? Nah.

I’ve never gone to any of mine either. The 30th reunion was just last month. I grew up with my BIL (he introduced me to his wife’s sister), and his wife said, sincerely, “(Clown), I’m sorry to say, but (‘Bob’) can’t make it to the 30th next month due to a work conflict.” My reply, without missing a beat, “No skin off my chin, I already see all the high school people in my life that I want.”
I grew up in a school that was half suburban, half rural. I’m fairly comfortable in saying my classmates split about 55/45 in favor of Dear Leader’s side.

Mine was super easy. Everyone from my HS sorted themselves out like a Harry Potter sorting hat in 2016, 2020, and 2024, with a surprising number of closet MAGA outting themselves most recently on 9/10.A small part of me wants to go to my 20-year HS reunion this fall just to see who's MAGA these days.

Despite wanting tocatch up with a handful of people, no reason to go pretend to like everyone else for a few hours just to shake hands with those who didn't bother to reach out in the last 25 years. Of my graduating class of 97 people, I think I'm Facebook "friends" with a third at most.
Super weird when one of the snobby shits in HS turned home repair / HVAC in middle age saw my mom around town and was asking how I was and made it sound like we were long lost friends. I told my mom "Last I talked to him was December of 1998 when we were in a class together."

Minnetonka has been doing informal all class reunions in Excelsior for a few years in the summer. I went to a few and it was way more enjoyable than the typical formal reunion you're used to seeing in the movies. It's really just an excuse to get together when people you're still friends with and see some occasional flashes from the past.

Nexstar on Thursday denied that its decision to pull 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' off the air was due to comments hours earlier by FCC Chair Brendan Carr.

That’s disappointing. The NYT could’ve had the Stalin in Chief under oath during deposition. He would either have to answer or commit perjury, or try pleading the Fifth in a non-criminal trial. Imagine the LOLs!
