I will always have an issue with people screaming and yelling during the SOTU (going back to Joe Wilson doing it to Obama) but if the Dems had any stones they would have walked out en masse while he talked. It would have aggravated him (and a lot of people in the short term) but history would remember them and it would have inspired more than it would have upset. I think AOC is kind of full of crap most of the time (not her policies just in general) but her choice was perfect.

The Democrats will continue to lose until they realize that the people are looking for them to fight even a losing battle. They don't want to hear about bipartisanship or big speeches with finger wagging...they want to see some action. Standing outside buildings or going on MSNBC is not enough. There is not anyone in leadership who most of us dont think wont sell us out and that is best shown by letting people like Elise Slotkin or Hakeem Jeffries be the voice of "The Resistance". They aren't resisting...they are going through their motions and doing what they can to make sure they get enough donations for their next run. They are collaborators, and truth be told, if there is a Democratic Party in 4 years they need to be as far away from leadership as possible.

Sorry but you are wrong. People want to see action (even if it is overall performative) and the Dems show zero action or any ability to even organize an action. MAGA can get all huffy they aren't what matters what matters is what the rest of the country thinks and no one trusts the Democrats to do anything but exactly what they did...sit on their hands and hold up signs. Walking out at least makes it look like they care. Look at what Bernie is able to do even now and he is 1000 years old with very little clout...people want to be lead.

Bingo. We live in a low information society now so actions speak louder than words. Think of it like a coach...throwing trashcans and yelling like a moron in reality doesn't do all that much, but how many times have wee seen a team come out right after that and play better? That is where we are with most voters. They don't want a 5 minute powerpoint presentation about how tariffs work, they want to see that someone who has some power is willing to look the Emperor in the face and say he has no clothes. I didn't say the Dems don't need to take action, but I want to see a freaking hell of a lot more than walking out of just the latest occurrence of Orange Droolius mouth vomiting. They have screwed the pooch with sending a larger message up until this point and walking out would have looked amateurish and clownish. A bigger statement first of all would have been to not show up in the first place. Had they been more dignified, left the signs at home, and in unison quietly left maybe that would have worked, but I have my doubts the party could even pull that off right now.

Secondly they need find a bona fide mouth-piece and face of the party (or two or three), and stop pissing on each other for scraps. The people that have been lost don't have any clue what the party stands for. Finally where I will hard disagree with you is claiming the far-left has their shit together.

You don't get it...you have to walk before you can run. These clowns can't even talk to constituents let alone lead. The people don't trust them. They need to give people something more than just a mouthpiece. There needs to be action.

No one is saying that walking out will solve anything, it's just the first step. Something to show they are taking this seriously. I agree not showing up would have been good but not better. That looks bitter. Show up, walk out and annoy the piss out of everyone. Make a scene, ruin the moment. Take the bad press that will come the people will respect you more even if the polls say otherwise. That's a stepping stone for the fight in 2 weeks which is really do or die for the Dems.

Until the Dems show they have a spine no one is going to listen. They need to wake people up.
