Superior 2 River Falls 2 after 2nd


River Falls has about 1:30 left on a five minute major...Hailey Epema boards Dani Sibley pretty hard late in the period.

The ladies finished their home schedule with an undefeated record at home, sweeping every home series they played. 4 more road games left (UNE, Sacred Heart x2, St. A's). Either way, last year in their first season they finished 7-14, in their second season they are currently 17-2-1 and will likely finish 20-3-1, with the possibility of finally figuring out St. A's and finishing 21-2-1. Not a bad showing at all for a 2nd year program. Will be fun to watch next season when they are post-season eligible and have another year of experience under their belts. Might not be all that long before St. A's has some one to battle with locally.

Big win by UNE over FP this weekend 3-2, handing them their first loss in their last 10 outings. UNE has a way to go but a solid foundation (7 of their top 10 scoring leaders are First-year's) to build on for next year. Exciting to see women's hockey grow!

Lake Forest ran into a buzzsaw when they faced Point yesterday. Every line Point put out was relentless in pursuing the puck, and they capitalized on their scoring opportunities. I wonder if playing St. Norbert's on Saturday night and then the long bus ride to Point for the afternoon game on Sunday caused some tired legs for Lake Forest. I also thought Point maybe got away with a few checking penalties late in the game (although LF didn't capitalize on their extended 5 on 3 opportunity at the start of the third period). All-in-all a fun game to watch if you were a Point fan; maybe not so much if you were a LF fan.

Plattsburgh leading Middlebury 3-1 after two. The third Plattsburgh goal was as beautiful a goal you could ever see.



Now 4-1......13 min left in third

Engebretson gets a 5 min major and game misconduct for checking from Behind.

Superior also gets a 2 minute "unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. So 4-4 for first 2 mins of the major...which stevens point scores on. 2-2 midway thru the third.

Why does the Superior player not get to come out of the box on that??
