Div-3 Hockey 2011-2012

Re: Div-3 Hockey 2011-2012

This was posted in April :p

Interesting that it seems Elmira and RIT have gone to a home and home series rather than one team hosting both league games?

They are always screwing around with this series. At least it's a home & home on the same weekend this go around...

Re: Div-3 Hockey 2011-2012

Very true. This is one of the 2 weekends I circle for the season. The other being Plattsburgh.

As does everyone :)

This little three-way dance between Plattsburgh, RIT and Elmira every season is always entertaining. Usually emotions are high and some tremendous hockey is played.

RIT gave up a home game so Elmira could have a home game during alumni weekend. At least they didn't break up the games like they did last year.

Norwich releases its 2011-12 Schedule:

One minor surprise on there for you Obserbear. It's ironic because the day we discussed this earlier this year, I got a call from coach bolding saying it might be in the works and sure enough. There it is. Looking forward to it for sure. Tough losing Trinity from the schedule, but Bowdoin has definitely got a good club too.

Once again a loaded non-conference schedule for Norwich. Is it October yet?

Let's hope the Polar Bears have added a couple of pieces and will be up to a trip to Kreutzberg!
December 10 could be a great day...RIT plays Trinity in Hartford at 2pm and I can probably be in Northfield in time for the 1st period faceoff at 7!
Looking forward to the end of October and the amplified East-West Classic!

Re: Div-3 Hockey 2011-2012

Oswego plays at Amherst in December.

Good for Oswego. If they keep making the improvements they showed last year, they'll start to be able to make in roads to get into the D-III upper echelon scheduling hierarchy where all the top teams play each other in NC games in order to get the best resume for the NCAA Tournament.

Re: Div-3 Hockey 2011-2012

I'll say Prez! Another big recuitment year for Lang as well. Interesting to see what they have this year in Northfield as they replace NEC at the East/West Classic.

Agreed.

The East/West Classic field is absolutely stellar.

I'd argue it might even be better than the Panther/Cardinal classic field this year. They are both top notch fields however. Either one is four great games of hockey. I bet obserbear is at most if not all eight!

Six eggs in a basket, half dozen in the other. ;)

The East/West and Panther/Cardinal are no brainers (although that trip back to Plattsburgh the weekend of Thanksgiving festivities is proving a tough sell with the Editor...something about recruiting in Rhode Island). But anyway, the real problem is scheduling the weekend of December 9-11 with Manhattanville@Middlebury, RIT@Trinity, Bowdoin@Norwich and RIT@Amherst, but I am sure it can be done!

We'll be expecting a game report on each one of those matchups! Fueled by black coffee and gas fumes...lol.

Re: Div-3 Hockey 2011-2012

Hope to be seeing you for either or both the East/West and Panther/Cardinal?

Well unlike the rest of the world...we await the EC sched to get our gameplan together. My understanding is that it's complete and should be out next week.

Anticipate making it to either Northfield or Platty but not likely both.

Come on up to northfield and we'll visit the rustic or one of the montpelier establishments for a pint while we celebrate a Norwich or Elmira Win :)
