Div-3 Hockey 2011-2012

Re: Div-3 Hockey 2011-2012

Norwich opens it up in the 2nd period.

Cadets pound home four goals including three in the final five minutes of the period to take a 5-0 lead heading into the third period.

DeBus added her second goal and then made a perfect pass to Kayce Anderson who one-timed it home from the hashes of the right circle for the 5th NU goal.

Kayla Lascelle and Renee Lortie also pick up goals.

defending national champs look pretty good.

YO DD: From what I can tell the RIT/Manhattanville and Elmira/Manhattanville games are not being broadcast. What's up with that?

Manhattanville will have an audio webcast of both games.

Unfortunately we cannot video stream non-Norwich games at this time.

We are working on the possibility of livestats tonight. Stay tuned.

Some interesting news in another post: http://www.uscho.com/womens-d3-blog...lassic-picks-ncaa-field-expanding-to-8-teams/

"the NCAA Tournament field will be expanding from seven teams to eight this season"..."Now there will be three Pool C bids intead of two like there has been in previous years...Now there will also be no more byes and everyone will have to play their way into the Frozen Four."

I really like that - I think a bye into the Frozen Four was not "fair," especially when it wasn't necessarily the top seed receieving it.

"the NCAA announced that next season we will be going to a predetermined site for the host of the D-III Frozen Four on a one-year trial basis. This marks the first time that there could be a chance that a school will host the Frozen Four without a team in it."

This is interesting - potentially gets rid of home advantages, but makes travel tougher for another team
