Santiago with a walk-off walk in the bottom of the 12th. Nice comeback after being down 6-1 at one point.

EDIT: Jesus. After watching the highlights, Santiago almost royally ****ed up by forgetting to run to first base after the walk.

So, lemme get this straight. Dontrelle walks half the ballpark, so I turn it off and go to bed because I feel like ****. We come back from down 6-1 and win it ourselves on a walk, where Santiago has to be told to go to first base.

I think I'm going to bed today at noon.

Okay, we've got some news this morning, all from Lynn Henning, of all people:

Scherzer and Sizemore to Toledo

Danny Worth called up to replace Sizemore. Carlos Guillen will play 2B when he returns.

Pretty much. Santiago was standing at home plate like a dope cheering on Maggs as he came in to score while Maggs is wildly gesturing at Santiago to go touch first base.

I have no idea why they're moving Guillen back to the middle infield unless they think that will speed up his next injury.

I'm guessing that they're making room for both Boesch and Guillen in the lineup. Remember, Guillen was hitting about .310 before the injury.

And from what I read in the article, Guillen is not close to returning yet.

Okay, that double play that Inge just started was just loony.

First we took 3 of 4 from the Yankees, and now we get 2 of 3 from the Red Sox.

I gotta be honest. After the 4th inning last night, I was hoping we wouldn't get swept this weekend, let alone get 2 of 3.

Outside of a ridiculous amount of walks and an inordinate amount of runners left on base by Boston, I am starting to like this Tigers team. They seem to have a "never give up" attitude. It looks like the Cardiac Cats from 2006 are back--not that this team is going that far, but they are going to make noise late in games.

I guess their hand was forced since they couldn't move Boesch or Jackson. Putting Guillen back in the middle infield just scares the crap out of me. Maybe they'll let him take that bat out into the field and he can bat balls over to first base, because he's not running them down.

Boesch has just been ridiculous at the plate lately, and it would be nice to see someone legit behind him instead the usual Inge strikeout and Laird weak pop out.

Guillen can't be any worse than Sizemore was. The Tigers lead the majors in errors. A fifty point pop in the lineup may ease some of that pain. And Raburn isn't the answer either. His 20 HRs and .291 average was a mirage and his glove is atrocious.

Boesch will hit a wall soon. I hope he will stick unlike another one hit wonder from 2006.

We all talked about the bottom of the order during the pre-season. I am more concerned with the pitching. The Tigers are going to have to stop winning games 7-6 and 8-7 and win more games like Sunday.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

Tom Gage had some interesting stats re: Sizemore in his blog today. It looks like the guy was just struggling everywhere you looked, and he had to go.

And boys, most of you live closer to Detroit than I do, but looking out the window in my office, I don't know if we're going to play today, either.

As for Boesch, I think he's a far better prospect than Chris Shelton was. Shelton was a Rule 5 pick from Pittsburgh, while Boesch was a highly drafted talent from our own organization. There aren't too many Rule 5 guys that can catch on and stick somewhere. The proof will be in the pudding over the next two months.

Oh, and Guillen may start his rehab assignment this weekend. We'll see...

EDIT: From Baseball Reference: Boesch: 3rd round pick. Shelton: 33rd round pick.

So apparently we're going to play today.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

Another homer light pending...

I don't like our chances.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

I know Jackson struggled with strikeouts early on, but it seems like he puts together some really quality at bats late in games. I'm liking this kid.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

We had our chance at 4-2, with 2 on and Maggs and Cabrera coming up. It's 6-2 now in the 8th, and we're probably done.

Since I'm guessing none of you ESTers are up...
