Perry> Stop sucking.

Kthxbye.

Edit: Too late. Way to keep him in the game after a .170 hitter almost goes yard.

THANK YOU!!

It was apparent that Perry had exactly diddly-**** after the homer and another batter or two got on base. Joel Zumaya and Phil Coke are standing there like kids in a candy store, all ready to go, and our assmonkey of a manager waits until half the neighborhood burns to the ground before he goes to the bullpen.

Nice piece of managing there, needledick. What the **** were you waiting for? WE HAVE AN OFF DAY TOMORROW, YOU LEATHERNECKED ****TARD!!

And that's the sort of loss you point to when you wonder why we're 5 games back in late August.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

Oh, and this is just priceless from ol' Marlboro Jimmy, in this evening's mlive.com:

Still, Leyland added it was "a crying shame" that Bonderman wasn't rewarded with a win.

Yeah, numbnuts, it is, and it's YOUR OWN GODDAMMED FAULT!!! Just what the hell were you doing while Ryan Perry was burning down Safeco Field, with Zumaya and Coke ready to go, with an off day tomorrow?

JFC.

mind numbing stupidity... and the Yanks swept a dh from Minnesota, too.

Winless in Seattle... part II. :o

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

I would understand if Perry came in with a 2-run lead and gave up the game-tying bomb within 3 batters. Let's say, a walk, a groundout, and he leaves a slider up in the happy zone and someone crunches it. Fine. Blame the bullpen. It's a helluva lot easier to swallow.

That isn't what happened. Leyland had ample time to come to the conclusion that Perry didn't have it yesterday, and even had two pitchers ready to go. Why he allowed Perry to continue absolutely blows my mind. Ryan Perry never should have been in the game with runners on 2nd and 3rd, with 1 out while the score was still 4-3. He should have been gone at that point. Zumaya and Coke were ready in the pen. This was a managerial ****-up, plain and simple. One that could have been avoided, and one that should have been avoided, even with Perry's struggles.

There's a difference between starting a fire, and allowing it to burn down half the city. Perry started the fire, but Leyland waited until we were all in flames before he called the fire department.

Insert comment about Fu-te-ni not picking up a ball here.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

Cabrera has three dongs tonight and yet, we're still going to lose.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

Figures. Cabrera gets a three homer night and I'm away from the homer light for the evening.

Perry wrecked another one, while Leyland stayed with him two batters too long. He shouldn't have been around to plunk the hitter to load the bases. Zumaya should have been in the game at that point. Not as egregious of an error as Wednesday evening, but Leyland needs to quit having a hard-on about getting guys through an inning in the late stages of a game.

Willis was halfway decent tonight, and Bonderman turned in a gem the other night. Both outings were wasted.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

Word is Scherzer is starting Sunday. Hopefully that means Gallaraga will move into Willis' spot.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

Galaraga is the one that will be headed back to Toledo when Scherzer returns. They can't send Willis down unless he clears waivers, and even then I think he can refuse the assignment, and they would have to release him.

We're going to need Willis, if for nothing else other than having a warm arm available for the rotation. There isn't anything else in the farm system ready to add to the rotation. If we get rid of Willis, and something happens to Porcello, or if Bonderman loses his coloring books and forgets how to pitch for a month or so, we're screwed.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

I'm not going to get too upset with Laird on that play at the plate. That was a horrid throw by Everett.

Oh, and it's 6-0 Oakland. Right now we couldn't hit water if we were pushed into the ocean.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

Dontrelle Willis DFA'd.

I was wrong. Pass the ketchup. It's time to eat my words.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

12 out of Scherzer's first 15 outs have been strikeouts.

EDIT; 14 of 17. If he wasn't already over 100 pitches, we maybe could see something special today.

CABRERA!!!
10-2, bottom 8

5-run 8th for the Tigers. The A's got sloppy, and the Tigers buried them.
