Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Can't find much fault in this logic. ;)

One RB I wouldn't mind seeing the Lions take a chance on in the Draft would be Joique Bell from Wayne State. Kid has always been a gamer, was pretty much their all-everything player. Might not be the fastest guy around, but if still available in the fourth or fifth round, grab him.

The only guy worth a pick from ANY d-2 school is Veldheer from Hillsdale. If he's still around after picks 45-50 I'll be surprised.

Bell might go in the late rounds or be an UFA. I just don't see him doing much in the NFL.

Round 3 maybe with Veldheer, but suggesting he'll be a second round pick.... hahahahaha...... :p

Although I think the Lions may either take a RB (the Stanford kid?) at #34 or a Corner, depending on what they do in the draft and FA. Either way they need value for a 2nd round pick, not a project. If they trade down, they can get both.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Wow, the Lions are actually making some positive headlines this off season. We just signed Nate Burleson! Now maybe Megatron won't get double and triple teamed every darn play!

Traded for Williams and signed KVB and Nate all in the last 72 hours! I'm really starting to get excited now for the draft!

Care to make a wager? He'll most definitely go in the top 2 rounds. Maybe even early 2nd.

Not even the draft guru for D2football.com has Veldheer going early second. He has him listed as optimistic about him going mid second, but he also has him going somewhere in the fourth on the lower end of his guess. All depends on who really wants a 6'8" OT with quick feet.

Great signing on Vanden Bosch. I doubt you'll end up thinking much of Williams. He's a lazy bum who wanted that one big payday Cleveland gave him.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Detroit just traded a 6th round pick to Atlanta for Houston. This is a great trade for Detroit. He's started almost every game since he was a 2nd round draft pick in 2007.

No, it's not a joke. They've been making noise about this for a couple days.

I don't like it. Not one bit. I'm all for upgrading the roster, but this is a bit much. After this they might go get Travis Henry and turn them both loose in the strip clubs. Detroit might be back up over a million people within a couple of years.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

I'm thinking I'll give Schwartz the benefit of the doubt on this one.
If signed, I doubt it would be for a big $. Where's the risk ?

A cancer in the locker room can hurt a team as much as anything else.

Him making it rain in some strip club in Detroit and getting into a gun fight would look GREAT on the organization.

I gotta agree with Moe on this one. This guy's more headache than he's worth. This is T.O. with gunfire.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

So... They don't make an obvious trade for Cromartie and now they want Adam Jones?

Idiots.

Cromartie wasn't at Florida State long enough to rack up the <strike>resume</strike> criminal record that Schwartz is looking for, apparently.

I doubt he'd be making it rain in a Detroit strip club. The city has put major restrictions on clubs within the city limits. They eliminated VIP rooms & no touching between the dancer & customer. He'd likely have to go into Windsor or the suburbs to get his fix.
