Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Even though almost all of us would love it if Ford sold the team, I don't see it ever happening. Until Sr. kicks the bucket I think this franchise will be sentenced to the depths of the NFL's worst teams.

Finally, a statement out of you that I can agree with.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

What is this team going to do with another 1st overall pick? I can't imagine anyone would trade up for it. Hopefully Tampa goes winless and we can get the 2nd or 3rd pick.

The upside is this draft is very QB heavy so listening to deals will be a good move to get whatever you want out of someone desperate to move up and get one. Pile on the picks I'd say while not getting hosed yourself for what you want.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

I was hoping the Rams would go past your amazing losing streak, guys. But you just wouldn't let that happen, would you?

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Hopefully we can beat Cleveland. If that happens, we'd end up with the 4th or 5th pick. Taylor Mays here we come!!!

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

The Lions should take a QB early, you can never have too many good QB's. I think Tim Tebow would be a great pick for the Lions, he would probably bring them to Superbowl calibre in less than a year. He is Tim Tebow, after all.:p

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

And this surprises you? Calvin Johnson didn't play so there went Detroit's only actual talented player.

Sadly, this is pretty much the difference. Steven Jackson is the Rams only talented player, and he went buck-wild. Lions failed because their receivers can't catch. CJ probably could have picked up a TD by himself on some of those drops.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Chambers was released today.

With Megatron injured. Picking him up might not be a bad option, as the Lions receivers were woeful on Sunday.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Outside of CalJo (sorry for that), the receivers have been woeful at least since Millen went and signed Betty Schroeder away from Green Bay.

And he'd fix the local economy. All the while, getting all of Michigan fit.

Then we can all learn the real southern way to say Tebooooow.

But I think being the area we live in, it's gotta be that great leader, according to NBC, Casey Clauson. He's supposedly better than Tebow, if I listen to them for more than a few min. That would be awesome.

Actually, if the lions were smart, they would trade #1 to someone for two picks, and get BOTH!

(on a serious note, heck with the draft, how about paying some good free agents to replace the players we have?)

Could he take on Tom Brady? That's the REAL question!

Honestly, and I know it sucks, but come on, you guys ARE improving. Do you know how long it's gonna take (given salary cap issues, if any) to correct the Millen Era? We're talking expansion team at best. But you are making strides.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Okay, deal with the devil time, Lions fans.

The deal: Guaranteed 8-8 season (that's a minimum, more wins are still possible.) The tradeoff? Your new quarterback is a Mr. Michael Vick.

Do you make the deal?

I wouldn't. Stafford's mistakes, from what I've seen, are rookie mistakes. He has the tools, and I think the skill. Just no experience. And what is 8-8 gonna get you? Not the playoffs this year. So take the draft pick.
