Murtha's seat stays Dem.
There's a reason why it's illegal (and can bring with it fines and even jail time) to claim that you've been awarded a medal that you did not earn. This isn't illegal, but it's basically the same type of thing.
its the stolen valor act. I think its claiming any medal you didn't earn.
The Stolen Valor Act of 2005 (the Act), signed into law by former President George W. Bush on Dec. 20, 2006,[1] is a U.S. law that broadens the provisions of previous U.S. law addressing the unauthorized wear, manufacture, sale or claim (either written or oral) of any military decorations and medals. It is a federal misdemeanor offense, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for no more than 1 year and/or a fine; the scope previously covered only the Medal of Honor.

Really? On election night? Really?
AP calls it for Sestak.
I'm starting to wonder here... I"m getting the impression the primary is yet to be held... supposed Linda McMahon (R-Candidate) is putting this out there and I believe she's running against another republican and former congressman. But the mainstream libs are running with this. This would imply to me that he can be replaced at this point.
Who else wants to run that's waiting in the wings to see Blumenthal fall apart? Or maybe is he a Clinton ally and so this is to sabotage that? Something doesn't seem right here.
Or maybe we need a presidential commission to investigate why, after all these years, anybody cares what anybody in this family of liars, killers, drunks, rapists, drug addicts and serial cheaters thinks about anything.
Wonder whether the story that comes out is this was the night when the Tea Party became rebranded as Libertarian-Economic rather than Fundamentalist-Social.
Put it this way: Paul's gain is Palin's loss.
Wow. You really don't understand the basic underlying concept of the Tea Party. Which is hardly surprising, since you've got them created in your mind as some kind of perfect demons.
Is that really so hard to grasp?
As slippery as an eel.
The underlying concept of the TP, as it exists today, is anti-liberal. With a Dem in power that means anti-everything from taxes to social policy. If the TP survives until the GOP is in power, it will become strictly social policy, since they will not challenge a right wing government.
Now all this could change if a Paulite captures (the correct word might be recaptures, since some of the TP genealogy dates back to the Ron Paul Experience) the movement, in which case they could retain their message and energy even against a GOP establishment.
But right now it's still very much the handmaid of the Republicans and the GOP is using them. They won't be truly what you think they are unless they start protesting GOP spending priorities under a GOP administration. Essentially, they are a fraud as long as Palin has a voice within them.
