My brother is one of the two (former) Packers' fans who now purport to be huge Minnesota fans. Apparently bought a shirt and everything and has completely disavowed the Packers.

Maybe not this year, but long term, it's clear he is a glutton for punishment.

Granted, I don't hang out with the sorts that call local sports talk shows in blind rages, but all the Packers' fans I know find this all more amusing than anything. Of course we all want to see Favre fall into an iron smelter, but it's not because he's playing for someone else, or playing for Minnesota specifically. Rather, it's because if one has been paid enough attention and retraced some history, it's pretty clear Favre is a hideously selfish individual and feels the rest of the world is merely here for his convenience.

Someone should dig up the interview Chmura did some years ago...

Has to be the left one as Favre's scrote is already tattooed on his right.

Apparently this entire situation exists, because....wait for it.....

"Ron Wolf is an a55hole"

btw - I'm not defending the move even if it does **** off Pecker fans, I'm just saying your whining up the wrong tree.

What is with this epidemic of d-bags not signing their neg reps...I got one for my anti-Glazer post and the chicken#@$% couldnt even sign it. I know 4 year olds with more sack than whoever the hell that guy is! :p

Ya know what is fun...when you read what certain Packer fans (I won't name names since a lot of them still post in various threads like say, this one and other Favre threads, Packer threads and every so often in Vikings threads...you all know who you are ;) ) have to say now! Many of these posters were the same ones who got all in a tizzy if you dared questioned the greatness of Brettina just 2-3 years ago...and if you dared to comment on how bad it was listening to announcers give Favre a reacharound every game they would get all red in the face with steam coming out of their ears! My how opinions changed just cause Favre left town :p

If he ever tries to defend that statement, I'd like to see it.

It's amazing the kind of short memories and completely altered histories that the modern idiot sports fan can come up with.

Seems like apples and oranges to me. Whether Favre is great is a seperate issue from the verbal fellatio that he got (and still gets) from the media, don't you think?

I can't speak on behalf of whichever fans you're talking about, but I don't know that there were really all that many people defending the media attention, other than to point out that Favre is in fact different than most other quarterbacks out there, and therefore more likely to be singled out.

There were certainly many who defended Favre himself (although, to my recollection, they've been dwindling in number since at least 2004, when the late season disasters and annual "retirement" sagas began to show up), and any of them that were vigorously standing by Favre as recently as last offseason are only fooling themselves. I'll happily admit that there are MANY people among my fanbase who should've re-evaluated Favre around '02 or 03, and haven't woken up to the truth until the past year or so- and they should all be embarassed about it to a certain degree. I'm fine with admitting that, just like every FAvre defender needs to be fine with admitting that Favre is indeed a self-centered diva.

But I don't know if the shift in attitude in Packer fans is any more shocking or strange than the annual shift in attitude made by Vikings fans. You know what I'm talking about: that point around week 7 (or whenever you lose a few games) when you guys stop thinking that you'll win the division and demand to blow up the team. Every fanbase has their weird quirks. Let's just all be glad that we're not Patriots fans.

He acts like the Vikings/Brad Childress/Brett Favre murdered his entire family with a spork and sounds like a bitter dink. Contrast this with Troy Aikman who said similar things without sounding like a complete buffoon.

And PA is about to spoog his shorts for about the 17th time in the last 23 hours.
