Well, the Vikings have turned themselves into the Drama Queens yet again. It happens every year.

At least for the first few games, the defenses will back off putting 8 in the box, and AP can get some yards to start the season. Then they'll remember that they're playing against a 39/40 YO QB and put that 8th guy back up there again.

One other thing, my nephew works on the UW Madison campus. He tells me that most of his coworkers are absolutely livid by all of this. So that alone makes this all worthwhile to me. It's not like they were going to win any championships with the guys they had at QB anyway. This way there's at least something to mock the team again.



How long until Brett's restaurant burns to the ground due to some unexplainable electrical fire?



And this is better than the whole love boat thing because this had people smarter than Daunte Culpepper planning the whole debacle.

We're the best of the lousiest. It took basically one Bills team that didn't change much to lose 4 SBs. It took the Vikings 4 very different teams to lose 4. And we made it there 4 times in a row, in the era of free agency, which is much more difficult. There's some solid reasoning in there somewhere. ;)

I think they'll probably make the NFC championship again after a 12-4 record or so and then lose at the dome to an inferior opponent who is a huge underdog going in.

1998, 1987(?) here we come.

Do you think the players didn't know? Do you honestly think that something we all figured out as soon as he announced he wasn't coming back they didn't figure out? Everyone knew, my guess is even the QBs had an idea they just hoped against hope it was wrong.

Whoever said that the players can't trust the coach is a moron...coaches are self-serving *****s just like the players and will do what they think is best and all the players know it!

I have a feeling this was all a huge ruse on the part of the Vikings and Favre to make ESPN look like total idiots.

I actually agree it was a ruse but not to make ESPN look stupid (which they did) but just to extend this out until after camp so Favre could come in without needing to go to Mankato. It is the only explanation that makes any sense considering how quickly this came about.

Maybe. I'm not a packer fan, but I've been living in Wisconsin for 17 years, and most of the fans I've talked to are pretty nonchalant about it. They know they have the better deal in Aaron Rogers.

Not just the only explaination that makes sense, it perfectly fits his MO for wanting to skip Packers camp last year, or for not wanting to be anywhere near camp for his last few seasons in Green Bay. He wants the NFL glory without the work. Plain and simple.

Yeah. Agreed. Not to say that burd is necessarily wrong about the Rodgers bit.

Feeling happy with Thompson's choice to stick with Rodgers has no bearing on how little we believe Favre when he says he's exclusively picked the Vikings but that it somehow has nothing to do with the Packers.

Why admit to your grudge towards Thompson when you interviewed with Greta? If its just about playing, why not stick with the Jets? Why admit to Joe Buck that you're only interested in Minnesota? Is Minnesota really the only team out there that needs a QB and plays a west coast system? Considering how often you've lied to get your way (see also: staying out of camps by pretending to be retired), why would we believe you when you say otherwise?

I get the factors that make Minny a good fit for the Cornbread Diva (style of play, indoor stadium, good enough quality in a bad division to make something happen), but how dumb do you have to be to think that that's all there is to it?

I love how much Packer fans hate Favre now...it makes all those years of them defending his ****** *** worth it! :D
