D3 Regional Rankings and Bracketology

Oh yes. All the Western teams are so much better. I can see that now. I have seen the error of my ways.

You might want to check that butthurt stuff before you start throwing it out there.

Don't believe that Adrian hype. They have won how many National Championships?? 0

How many womens titles have the Western teams won??? 0

So feel free to keep your own personal bitterness.

Haha. And what does that have to do with anything? I don't have any bitterness..I'm not the one whining about how my team got screwed. Elmira can't beat a good team...but keep running up the score on Neumann and Oswego. That's so tough.

Obviously you haven't been to the Murray lately... lol

Don't they ask the crowd to bring flashlights to shine on the ice since the lighting is so dim. (No truth to the rumor is a candlelit arena thought!)

Re: D3 Regional Rankings and Bracketology

As opposed to yours?

Anyway, how is Elmira getting screwed "again"? When was the last time they got screwed?

2015 - home against Trinity
2014 - at Norwich (who was higher ranked)
...

I don't know about the again part, but considering Elmira & Adrian are almost certainly the overall #2 and #3 seeds in the tourney, I'd say they both got a little screwed with this one. Add in the fact that Elmira, presumably the #3 seed, is playing a first round game on the road. I get the whole beat everyone to win mentality, but it's still getting screwed. At least a little bit.

at Middlebury • W, 3-1
vs. Amherst • T, 2-2

Your right they have not gotten a result versus any good teams.

I wasn't aware that tying was winning...and like I said..."good" teams. :) :):D

I also think you bolded the wrong part of my post...you must have that high quality Elmira education...

That's the funny thing...if anyone should be complaining about getting screwed its Adrian and Plattsburgh. The whiners are making it seem like Elmira's had to play Adrian the last 5 years because of the 500 mile rule. To my knowledge this is the first time its happened. It's just nice to see the Eastern teams have to deal with "being screwed" for a change.

Elmira men had to go to Adrian once and the Oswego men have gone out twice.

Re: D3 Regional Rankings and Bracketology

Gotta appreciate the desperate attempt to get a West team in the final by putting Adrian and UWRF/STT on the same side of the bracket.
Or is it a desperate attempt to make sure at least one Eastern team makes it to the finals? Imagine if the west teams were on opposite sides of the bracket and both made it to the finals!:p

Oh ok...so its been a bigger issue on the men's side. That makes sense than. Were all 3 of those times a "screwing over" or was it at least a logical send?

Could you imagine the poopstorm that would start :)

Not from knowledgeable fans. I have no problems with an all western final. I may have issues with the way an original bracket was set up (not that the Committee had any options this year....even I easily predicted 100% of the bracket), but you can't have an issue with how the bracket plays out. The only change I would have considered would have been Plattsburgh/Amherst winner playing the River Falls/St. Thomas winner in the semi-finals, but I don't have any idea of the comparison between Middlebury and River Falls.

Re: D3 Regional Rankings and Bracketology

300, 500 it does not matter, it is a stupid rule. The NCAA makes BILLIONS of dollars between football and basketball. It's time to spread that money out.

I repeat the Utica loss means nothing. They were always going to get sent to Adrian because of the rule. So they did get screwed.

Frankly there is not enough of a difference between Amherst and Umass Boston IMHO for Plattsburgh to complain. They will end up beating Amherst easily.

Not much difference? WoW....just totally clueless right there.

Before this past weekend...which I assume would have pretty much kept things the same since both teams won and played ranked teams...
Middlebury
Win% .780 (now .796)
SOS: .607
RNK: was 2-4-2 (now 3-4-2)
H2H: none
COP: 1-0

River Falls:
Win: .778 (now .786)
SOS: .547
RNK: was 3-4-0 (now 4-4-0)
H2H: none
COP: 3-2

Seems pretty even. Win is a wash, middlebury gets strength of schedule, River Falls gets RNK, barely. Their 1 common opponent is Stevens Point. Midd played them once, River Falls 5 times. I'm sure it counts, but how heavily does it weigh? It seams this could have really gone either way...and depending on if the Committee ranked River Falls as the 2W vs Middlebury as the 3E, that could swing it that way as well.

I'm ok with an all West final if those are the teams that win/earn it.

See gojackets that's called lacking bias.

I'm glad that you're in love with me...but I'm not biased.

I'm not stupid...I know that the west has never won a national title. However, using that as a reason to deny teams into the tournament or hosting rights is just stupid. That's like saying if Plattsburgh went 0-25 next year (one can dream right?) that they should still make the tournament because they were good the past few years.

While the eastern snobbery can continue and will continue, even if a west team wins this year and my arguing the opposing view doesn't make me biased. I can support and advocate for the western teams, while knowing I'm fighting a losing battle until one of the teams out west can beat Plattsburgh. Even then it will be...well you've won 1 in 15 years...the west still sucks.

You will also find that I am often right :)

Again...I'm not the one whining about how my team got screwed...because, you know, they have to travel for a hockey game for once.
