Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Canada still sucks:p ;)

Lets go USA!!!!!!!!!!! Could you guys have gotten an easier road to the WJC finals? Switzerland??? REALLLY??!!!

Over in Saskatoon as we speak. The Swiss are riding high after their upset over the Rusky's. No gimme there.

I can tell you the whole country is pulling for the US tonight. Tired of the Sweden/Canada matchup in the final.

So...for tonight only...Go USA!

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Anyone updating the Plattsburgh/Amherst game? Did it start on time?

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

after 1 at Kenyon:
Amherst 1 Plattsburgh 0
sog 11-2
Amherst looks good on the big ice and is using their speed to disrupt Cardinal breakout and transition. Amherst has had a number of good scoring chances. Evans scored picking up a loose puck at the top of the crease in a scrum, taking a step away from the net and beating Mackrell with a shot on the ice inside the far, stickside post.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

after 2 at Kenyon:
Amherst 1 Plattsburgh 0
2nd period a bit more even play with lots of end to end action and both D pretty much keeping the puck away from the net.
sog 4-3

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Glad that we're going to get four cross-conference games!

Amherst and Elmira get a rematch of last year's National Championship on the same ice it was played on. Plenty of new faces though for both teams.

Middlebury and Plattsburgh both get their first losses of the season.

Really wish I could have been there...sounded like two tremendous hockey games and I'm sure two more will be on tap tomorrow.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Jill DeBus puts Elmira up 1-0 in the first period on the PP.

Assists to Colehour and DePaul.

Scramble in front buried by DeBus before Hu could recover.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Courtney Hanlon makes a pretty move with a toe drag around an EC defensemen but Sullivan was up to the task and made the save to keep Elmira on top 1-0.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Elmira:1
Amherst:0

End of 1 period.

Shots are tied at 5.

EC's Jill DeBus with the lone tally for her 6th of the season, tying her for the team lead.

For those not watching,

Elmira beats Amherst 2-1...

So who, beside Elmira boosters, had the Eagles winning two this weekend?

So now we have a horse race at the top of the polls.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

No one will admit to it, Elmira's 2 & 0 showing against the premier teams of Div III shows that they still are around, Who's going to go 0 & 2 at the tournament - should be interesting. Go Eagles !!!!!!

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Nice job by the ladies from Elmira. And a sweet win on the same ice as last year's heartbreak NCAA Championship Final game. Enjoy the win now. There's another tough game with Amherst on the 20th.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Plattsburgh edges Middlebury in the consi game 2-1 to finish third....

How about the home team taking the 0-2 this weekend? We knew a National Championship calibur team was going to finish fourth, but did anyone think it was going to be the host?

Congrats to the Soaring Eagles for surviving the gauntlet... and congrats to all of the teams for putting on an incredible show that does women's college hockey proud.
