LOL! Well of course...why wouldn't they?!I survived, but people were telling end of the world jokes like there was no tomorrow.
I survived, but people were telling end of the world jokes like there was no tomorrow.
I survived, but the lack of hockey to watch over the last week (either in person or on television) has left much to be desired.Anyone else survive to follow the trail of The Championship Belt?
Minnesota retained the Belt through series with Colgate (9/28 & 29) and St. Cloud State (10/5 & 6). The Belt now goes on its first plane ride since February as it travels to Canton, N.Y. with the Gophers.
The Gophers retained the Belt through series:Not a lot of movement of the Belt thus far this season. Minnesota retained it through series:
at St. Lawrence on Oct. 12 & 13;
versus Ohio State on Oct. 19 & 20;
at North Dakota on Oct. 27 & 28;
at Minnesota-Duluth on Nov. 2 & 3;
versus Minnesota State on Nov. 16 & 17;
at New Hampshire on Nov. 24 & 25;
versus Wisconsin on Dec. 1 & 2.

Minnesota still owns the Belt after maintaining possession:The Gophers retained the Belt through series:
at Bemidji State on Dec. 7 & 8;

at Minnesota State on Jan. 18 & 19;

Wishfull thinking. Good things never last foreva. Willing to Bet the Belt will move at least once at some point prior to the end of March.

It wasn't actually wishful thinking on my part...that was a complete mischaracterization...or let's see...putting words in my mouth. I hadn't forgotten the exchange. Good things never do last forever. Possible they last long enough sometimes.There still is two chances for the belt to change hands so the "at least once" is still in play for now.
December 2012:I'm going to spend my offseason in the blissful fantasy world where Minnesota never loses.
... the Mighty Championship Belt belongs to Minnesota 'til the end...the very end!
March 2013:Wishfull thinking. Good things never last foreva. Willing to Bet the Belt will move at least once at some point prior to the end of March.

You and me both.Back in December, figured that the Gophers would stumble once or twice in the dog days of winter in a less meaningful game.
Here's the actual comment in full...yeah...and I'm the one who would make a good politician. Nice editing for misrepresentation purposes....and if the Mayans prove accurate and enlightened prognosticators, the Mighty Championship Belt belongs to Minnesota 'til the end...the very end!
I knew it was shiny, but I didn't realize that the Belt was alive.
I think each of the games on the 26th and 27th go under the classification, "this non-title bout is scheduled for one fall."Can the belt be taken beyond borders? Would that require a sophisticated ring of international Championship Belt thieves?
Minnesota held the BeltMinnesota still owns the Belt after maintaining possession:
at Ohio State on Feb. 8 & 9;
vs Bemidji State on Feb. 15 & 16;
at St. Cloud State on Feb. 22 & 23;
vs Bemidji State on March 1 & 2;
vs Ohio State on March 8;
vs North Dakota on March 9;
vs North Dakota on March 16.
The next defense will take place on Friday versus Boston College.
So for the season to date, Minnesota started the season with the Belt in possession and held it:Updating ...
Minnesota held the Belt
vs Boston College on March 22;
vs Boston University on March 24;
at Colgate on October 4 and 5;
vs Wisconsin on October 11 and 12.
The next defense will be in Duluth on October 18.
The big question is......Will the Belt move along to the first team that beats Minny next season. ?
I'm going to spend my offseason in the blissful fantasy world where Minnesota never loses.
ARM's fantasy lives on.
Back in December (of 2012), figured that the Gophers would stumble once or twice in the dog days of winter in a less meaningful game. That did not happen.
You and me both.
The Mayans were full of it...as I anticipated, with tongue in cheek reference not actually based on wishful thinking. While I surely appreciate the good things revelation previously unknown to me, good things sometimes last a long d a m n time....and if the Mayans prove accurate and enlightened prognosticators, the Mighty Championship Belt belongs to Minnesota 'til the end...the very end!
Wishfull thinking. Good things never last foreva. Willing to Bet the Belt will move at least once at some point prior to the end of March 2014.
It's no trouble at all.
You were willing to bet. Good thing nobody put you on the hook for that willingness to gamble on that eh?Hold on a minute. Never made a prediction. Given up on that with this streak....Hoping that the Belt travels east to TD and then want to be witness to it staying in the East.....Right now the only serious candidate to be able to do it appears to be the Big Red.....During the most recent Olympic Year they did come mightily close.
