Cornell Big Red 2010-2011

Re: Cornell Big Red 2010-2011

Cornell's first goal was a back door feed from Johnston to Jenner. Video crapped out for the Mercyhurst goal so I missed it. Karpenko just scored buyt the camera person was filming the stands?!?!?! :/

This has happened with other schools' game feeds as well. If you are a student cameraperson, nobody out here cares about the crowd. Follow the puck at all times. Yes, they do crowd shots at NHL games, but they have more cameras and more personnel (and if they miss a goal because of a crowd shot, we'll be mad at them, too.) If you want to shoot something else during a break in action, show us the scoreboard.

I think he just forgot to stop moving when he was panning from one end of the rink to the other.

Re: Cornell Big Red 2010-2011

2-2 after 2. Karpenko scored from White and Jenner. Bram ties it up with her second goal of the evening from Bendus. Cornell leads the shots on goal after 2 periods 17-15.

Re: Cornell Big Red 2010-2011

F Nations games affect only 13/14 weekend I think-runs 9 to 13 Nov. From ECAC only Pucci ( Har.) and Jenner and Johnston (both Cornell) attending.

May be for participants-likely ?-practices extend time away from home before the start of actual competition. Does such include missing college, other game during practices?

Thus, if so, TWO weekends of players not being available to their college, other teams.

Reading between the lines, this article would suggest that MJ and RJ will be in the game against Harvard.

I didn't really pick up on that the first time, but reading it a second time, it does make it sound like they will be there. However, I'm pretty sure they will be off with TC. The game notes on the Cornell athletic web site has stated for the last couple of weeks that they will not be at these games.

:D
Agree with ARM as to scanning to the scoreboard. Also don't think RJ or MJ were on ice versus Dartmouth. Also Dartmouth may have for some reason lost services of Nanji who has done well for the Green.

Win by Cornell seemed some effortless and that is the way to be. But/AND, Green players need to keep learning to do as Mazzotta says below with respect to their game (Cornell's) with MCYhurst - make sure we come out and...'play our own game' (more of U S Grant as quoted previously re Bobby Lee!)

“Obviously everybody was pretty pumped up and excited,” said junior goaltender Amanda Mazzotta. “We knew they were a great team and would come out flying. Everybody was excited and ready to go … We wanted to make sure that we came out and played our own game.”

Re: Cornell Big Red 2010-2011

Matt -- word around Boston is that there were some recruits at the game Friday night? Possibly one that is already committed and two other top F's. Any confirmation of this? I know one of the girls everyone thought would goto Harvard with her sister. The other is a top-93 who surprisingly hasn't committed anywhere yet. Maybe she was waiting for Ivy?

The only forward that I know is committed is out of the great white north. She's a fantastic pick up for Cornell. I'm not sure if there have been any other commitments or not. I would love to hear more. Could you rep me the info?

Re: Cornell Big Red 2010-2011

Matt-I don't know how to do a private rep. And, I don't want to say all the girls in question names because what if they are also talking to other schools? That really wouldn't be fair to them. But, I will say the one girl I heard was there, Katelyn Pippy (goalie) because she is already committed there. After that weekend the rumor floating around Boston (because lots of Harvard parents made the trip up) was a top-'93 from Boston (she's a 2012 though) was there for the Harvard game, as was Katelyn Pippy was supposedly there and being mobbed by kids for autographs. And then one of Katelyn's current teammates who is a top '93 and hasn't yet announced where she is committing.

So, Cornell actually has 2 commits for next year. The fwd you reference from Bluewater (which isn't posted anywhere publicly but worst kept secret) and Katelyn Pippy. She has been a thorn in the side of Tier 1 Elite teams my daughter has played against her for years. She's like 6' tall and very athletic and flexible from her dancing background. She's not the quickest goalie, but her size and agility certainly help her stop a lot of rubber.

Thanks for the info! I completely understand not wanting to give names publically at this point.

You can rep someone a private message by clicking on the star (not the triangle) at the bottom of a post.

It looks like there are two canadians committed to Cornell. The northerner I was referring to does not play for Bluewater so we're moving on up to 3 commitments for next year. :D
