College Football 2024

Watched Colorado/Kansas(Rock Chalk baby)and Colorado is one of the most undisciplined teams I've seen. Jayhawks, with a losing record, have knocked off 3 straight top 25 teams for the first time in FBS history. Still not bowl eligible, they have to go one the road next week and beat Baylor to go bowling this year.

That's why most people agree that Sanders would be a perfect coach for the cowboys.... :)

So, we spent a week hearing all "NO ACTUALLY HAVING TWO LOSSES IN THE SEC MEANS YOU'RE REALLY GOOD

and then 3 of the 6 teams with 2 or fewer losses took a 3rd loss.

Actually, I doubt that. Given how "popular" the early bowl games are, the playoffs will get ratings that never happened prior to the New Year. They won't be comparable to the NY bowl games, perhaps, but it will extend the interest.

But, as you then point out, it's the same as it ever was, so nothing is going to change. People will gather around their school and go to football games. If it was really changing, then the places like the Kibbie Dome would constantly be empty.

The only real change is the TV exposure may be going back a decade or so, but thanks to streaming services, I can spend money to watch any game I want.

Nobody cares about bowl games.

Just to put it out there:

Friends and I are already planning a "Guys Day" for Sat. 12/21. Basically go out and spend all day/evening at a few sports bars, eat/drink like kings, play pool/darts/slots/etc. and just have a grand ole time while watching 12 hours of football.

Basically we are treating it just like a Thur/Fri for the Bouncy Ball tourney.

I also think its going to be pretty big for gamblers. Again, way more than any of the previous early bowl games.

I'm so old now that even considering having a day like that gives me a hangover. :p

Big road win against wisky today. Probably results in the badgers missing a bowl. They'd need a LOT of help and would need to avoid two wins in 7 coin flips amongst the 5-6 teams plus a few underdogs.

It also ended their streak of consecutive winning seasons at 22, and evened the overall series between the two schools at 63-63-8. Fun win.

I'd heard about Ashton Jeanty all year but hadn't see him play until today when I watched the Oregon State/Boise St game. Very impressive.

That back and forth 2 pt try is dum

mookie literally fell asleep watching it and learned the outcome checking the espn when he woke up this morning.

lol at Michigan and Ohio St postgame.

Edit: I'm pretty sure some Michigan players got pepper sprayed by Ohio State police. That's gonna be fun.
