TIL you can't block back towards your own goal line. So if you have a man approaching the ball carrier from behind, what are you supposed to do? Use harsh language?

Yeah. I'm guessing things would have played out a bit differently at the end if the Safety had been called. But Alabama may have needed a touchdown on that final drive instead of just a field goal.

I'd also point out that Alabama will suffer no ill effect due to the win. If that were a non-SEC team, they would drop 8 spots because they barely beat an unranked team down to its third-string QB at times. Alabama will gain votes because they beat Texas on the road.

Oh well. It was at least a good game...one I thought Bama would win by 3+ touchdowns.

If they didn't we gave them 2016, too.

I'm not even mad. This was not a fluke. Either we're the #3 team in the country behind Ohio State and Marshall, or Marshall is good and we would be a 4-8 team in the B1G.

The top half of the Sun Belt is pretty strong now. Coastal, App State, Marshall, and JMU while in transition is very talented.

They’ve done great in realignment from their old place in the cellar of FBS.
 
For Gophers fans old enough to remember Lou Holtz leaving I might be one of a small few that doesn't have any hatred for Notre Dame. I won't root for them but I think college football is better when they're competing in and losing big games.
