Saw it mentioned, but is the beginning of the end for the ACC? Maybe it’s a bit irrelevant with the expansion but I have to imagine this is going to cause some serious bad blood.

Where would they go?

I wonder if we’ll see litigation. I assume FSU is suffering significant financial harm over the decision and I’m sure the committee didn’t follow their own rules.

Are people buying Washington being the second best team? Maybe I just have a bias against the pac-12 but I don’t see that at all.

I had the same thought. If the Playoff wasn't getting expanded, why would schools like Florida State and Clemson want to stay in a conference where even if you go undefeated you may not make the Playoff?

However, with the Playoff getting expanded, and conference realignment, that's not going to be a concern. The ACC is comfortably positioned as the 3rd best conference going forward. Based on 2024 conference affiliation, we have 2 B1G schools and 2 SEC schools in the Playoff.

But, on the other hand, their TV partner just showed that they're willing to throw the ACC under the bus. Do FSU and Clemson now start looking to the B1G?

Yeah, listening to Joey Galloway and Kirk Herbstreit argue with a straight face that Alabama was clearly a Top 4 team was disgusting. Booger was the only one who really stood up for Florida State / decency. But, it's not as if ESPN had control over the committee taking Alabama over the Criminoles.

That being said, if the invite were there, Clemson would take it. I would think FSU would be a better fit in the SEC than the B1G.

I'm willing to bet some CFP Committee members and ESPN execs are furiously deleting emails ahead of the impending collusion lawsuit from FSU.

Given recent developments, I guess those of us Michigan and Washington fans should be very thankful that Ohio State and Oregon were actually decent teams or they would've put Georgia in over one of us.

Maybe stop playing 1AA schools if your conference is garbage?

I know that's a flippant response, but you aren't going to get a job at the French laundry even if you have never screwed up an order at McDonald's.

Did they really bring up the fsu qb injury?

so a team figuring out a way to win without him is…meaningless. A scrub from a team could take out the star player on opposing team to ensure they can’t make the playoffs? I guess that last part won’t happen with expansion but geez, never thought I’d feel bad for fsu

Not sure if you were referring to the ACC as a whole, or FSU. In any event, the ACC went 6-4 against the SEC and 4-3 against the B1G this season. FSU beat LSU and Florida.

The B1G did not play a single game against the SEC this season, and had a losing record against the ACC and Pac 12.
